you can usually get that press as a free loaner tool at autozone or o'reilly however I believe it is a deposit, and around 60 bucks maybe more, but you will get all that back when you return it.

from looking at your part it looks like you will need a press to remove and install the new bearing most shops will do this for you at a reasonable price, you just have to remove the entire assembly for it to be pressed

I have to replace the front left u-joint on my '88 cherokee

Lift your car up, after removing the tire, remove the brake clipper completely, then the disc. At the backside of the wheel hub assembly you see three screws with 12 theeth. To remove this you need a 13mm (not inch!!) 12-teeth nut or wrench (SnapOn has the right one). The screws are hardly to remove, so use a long arm wrench and open it with a short but powerful push/pull. Remove the three screws completely. Then use a bigger flat screw driver and a plastic hammer to pull the wheel bearing set with the drive shaft out. it takes a little time, so be careful and work around the bearing cover. Then slide the whole whell beraing set and dirve shaft slowly out. Remove the springer rings form the u-joint, push the joint first to one side to remove the bearing cap, then to the other side to do the same. After removing the bearing caps, take the joint out and replace it. Reistallation: same way back. make sure you've titen the screws with the right power!

How to change front wheel bearings on a 1996geo prism

To change the bearings on the front of the prizm, you will need to remove the steering knuckle unless you have the means of an on car bearing press, such as a "tomcat". You will have to remove the wheel, caliper, rotor, outer tie rod end nut, axle nut, lower ball joint mounting bolts, steering knuckle to strut mount bolts. press the hub from the knuckle assembly, remove internal snap ring that retains bearing and press the bearing out the other side of the knuckle. Reverse proceedure to install. You will need an alignment once you are done.
Good luck
