I am having issues with getting my key to push all the way into the lock on my 2003 Honda Civic, i have to play with it a while to get it to work. I know this is a known issue. I am thinking of getting a remote entry system but I am not sure if my care is capable of accepting/utilizing such a system. any on have any ideas?
SOURCE: automatic door lock no longer working
I just brought my car in because the AC was working, but not blowing cold. The emergency brake light won't go off. And the automatic door locks won't work (the doors lock manually but not auto). We just got the call that the entire fuse box under the steering wheel needs to be replaced. 270 for the part, 300 for the labor. !?!?!?!? It all just happened over the last weekend! They said not to drive it anywhere because you never know and all the electric could go!!! Not sure what caused it, but it sounds like I'm not the only one...

If there is nothing jammed in the barrel, you will need to pull apart the lining of the interior of the door, disconnect the power motor for that switch, then see if it locks by key, sounds like the motor is seized, of out of allignment, easily fixed with a second hand or reco motor, or witha simple adjustment. Good luck, hope it helps.

you have a bad lock actuator the locking & unlocking is built into the actuator
