Break Down And Replace The Blower Motor


REMOVAL

WARNING: ON VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH AIRBAGS, DISABLE THE AIRBAG SYSTEM BEFORE ATTEMPTING ANY STEERING WHEEL, STEERING COLUMN, OR INSTRUMENT PANEL COMPONENT DIAGNOSIS OR SERVICE. DISCONNECT AND ISOLATE THE BATTERY NEGATIVE (GROUND) CABLE, THEN WAIT TWO MINUTES FOR THE AIRBAG SYSTEM CAPACITOR TO DISCHARGE BEFORE PERFORMING FURTHER DIAGNOSIS OR SERVICE. THIS IS THE ONLY SURE WAY TO DISABLE THE AIR-BAG SYSTEM. FAILURE TO TAKE THE PROPER PRECAUTIONS COULD RESULT IN AN ACCIDENTAL AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT AND POSSIBLE PERSONAL INJURY OR DEATH OR DEATH.

NOTE: The blower motor is located on the passenger side of the vehicle under the instrument panel. The blower motor can be removed from the vehicle without having to remove the HVAC housing.

  1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the passenger side cowl trim panel.
  3. Position the carpet to access the front upper screw that secures the air inlet housing.
  4. Remove the recirculation door actuator.
  5. Disconnect the blower motor wire lead connector from the blower motor resistor or power module, depending on application.
    1. Remove the one screw (from the top) that secures the lower air inlet housing to the upper air inlet housing.
    2. Remove the four screws (from the bottom) that secure the lower air inlet housing to the upper air inlet housing and remove the lower HVAC housing.
    3. Push the rubber grommet through the opening in the lower air inlet housing.
    4. Route the blower motor wire lead through the opening in the lower air inlet housing and remove the lower air inlet housing from the vehicle.
    5. Position the recirculation-air door as necessary to access and remove the three screws that secure the blower motor to the lower half of the HVAC housing.
    6. Gently flex the recirculation air door downward to gain access to remove the blower motor from the HVAC housing. NOTE: To aid in installation, note the position of the blower motor mounting tabs prior to removal
      1. Remove the blower motor from the HVAC housing by rotating and tilting the blower motor as necessary.
      INSTALLATION

      1. Gently flex the recirculation-air door downward to gain access to install the blower motor into the HVAC housing.
      2. Position the blower motor to the HVAC housing and tilt and rotate the blower motor as necessary to install it into the HVAC housing.
      3. Align the blower motor mounting tabs to the locations noted during removal and install the three screws that secure the blower motor to the HVAC housing. Tighten the screws to 2 N·m (17 in. lbs.).
      4. Route the blower motor wire lead through the opening in the lower air inlet housing and seat the rubber grommet.
      5. Position the recirculation door pivot shaft into the lower air inlet housing and install the inlet housing.
      6. Install the four screws (from the bottom) that secure the lower air inlet housing to the upper air inlet housing and the lower HVAC housing. Tighten the screws to 2 N·m (17 in. lbs.).
      7. Install the one screw (from the top) that secures the lower air inlet housing to the upper air inlet housing. Tighten the screw to 2 N·m (17 in. lbs.).
      8. Connect the blower motor wire lead connector to the blower motor resistor or power module, depending on application.
      9. Install the recirculation door actuator.
      10. Reposition the carpet.
      11. Install the passenger side cowl trim panel.
      12. Reconnect the negative battery cable.
      13. Perform the heater-A/C control calibration procedure.

2001 crystler town & country fuel pump


The Fuel pump is in the tank. The only thing I disagree with in emissionwiz post is whether to drain the tank or not. Chrysler started putting drains on the tanks in 2000 to make this easier when they went to a plastic fuel tank. I would drain the tank from the drain, disconnect the wiring then drop the tank to replace the pump. This all assumes that you verified that the fuse in the interior panel is not blown and the fuel pump relay in the power distribution box under the hood is still good.

My 1989 buick park avenue keeps dying. a friend ran a test on it and it said the fuel pump was the problem, but the fuel pump fuse keeps bowing too... Would this be a short somewhere or the fuel pump...


My first thought is that you have wires shorting out somewhere, probably right above the gas tank. Either way, you're going to have to pull the gas tank off to find it. Usually, when a fuel pump dies, it just doesn't work, and won't normally blow a fuse. Pull the tank down, inspect the wiring, and change the fuel pump if the wires check out okay.

Will not start. fuel pump fuse and relay working but no pressure to fuel rail. is there a common problem with the plug (connector) at the fuel tank?


NO, this is very common you have a bad fuel pump, good tesing on your parts, thats the way to check it,you will need to drop the fuel tank to replace the fuelpump, make sure to replace the fuel filter inorder to have the pump warranty. hope this helps.

fuel pump is located in the tank- follow fuel line all the way to tank Remove fuel lines withe clips pull up -start them going up with a small screw driver then pull line back-- remove round collar ( gas tank must be near quarter tank) and turn by striking it with a flat screw driver and a hammer-remove sending unit pump is the round looking motor, lee davidian

2008 Ford F450 fuel pump relay fuse keeps blowing.


the fuel pump and radio are not on the same circuit, most liokely the fuel pump is shorted, that is the most common cause, get under the truck and disconnect the fuel pump connector at the tank, if the fuse doesn't blow then u need a new pump.

Birning the fesue for the fuel pump


You could have a short in the wire harness to the fuel pump or the fuel pump it self is bad or the relay has gone bad also. Start with the replacement of the fuel pump relay and also find the wire harness to the fuel pump sending unit from the frame to the gas tank and disconnect the connections. If the fuse does not blow when the connection to the fuel pump is disconnected, then it's a go chance that it's the fuel pump. If the fuse blows and the wire harness is disconnected, then the problem is towards the fuel pump relay and fuse block. Drop the tank check the fuel sock it is plugged or the fuel pump is bad, check the pump, also did they have a blowout? Check the blowout reset button to see if it popped out for some reason.

I was just took off from the light and the van just died


Yes pump is in the tank. To check turn on van you should hear a constant buzz if so pump is working. If not check fuse and fuel pump relay first. good luck

Ran out of gas now will not start


There should be a fuse for the fuel pump check this first. If fuse is good you will probably need a pump. The fuel pump is cooled by being in the fuel. When ran low or out of fuel the pump gets hot and will blow a fuse or overheat and quit.
