Question about 1999 Honda Accord

1 Answer

I am trying to replace the factory radion in a 1999 Honda Accord with a new Jensen. I had to get an adapter to fit the dashboard wiring harness. I had been using an online service to guide me through the process, but the online wire guide and the one that came with the harness adapter do not match. Which should I use?

Honestly if i didn't know what wires go where or have a way to tell them then i would have a professional installer do it reasons being if they mess up the job they are covered in fixing whatever they tear up by there insurance also its a safer bet to do the job right

1993 Honda Accord loosing power to radio

I would be very surprised if it wasn't a loose wire, and the ground wire is the most likely culprit, so I would check the ground for the radio wiring first. If it's an aftermarket unit, I strongly suggest grounding directly to the dash frame instead of through the harness adapter I hope you installed it with. Most of the time you'll be fine to wire through the harness adapter, but sometimes it just doesn't work out due to the company trying to make an adapter to fit too many models. Hope this helps.

Honda accord 2002 engine fit on honda accord 94

It might not be a direct swap. Engine codes changed a little along with displacement. Not sure what else may have changed too. If the engine code was the same, then it would likely be a direct drop-in, but now I would wonder about engine mounts, transmission adapters, wiring harness, sensors, etc.

Will a 1999 Honda Accord radio fit in a 1986 Honda Accord

No they won't sorry, the wiring diagram is different and plug fittings differ. However, a compitent electrician can adapt the wiring to fit and make an aftermarket bracket to mount. Call around, Good luck

Im puttin a new head unit with a different wire harness, i know what all the wires are on that wire harness, but with the 92 accord stereo wire harness i need to know which wires are speaker, remote, power...

You can buy a cheap harness from the local parts store for your Honda made specifically to put in aftermarket head units. Since you know the pin outs on your head unit, you can wire it up quickly uning this harness and it will plug directly into the factory Honda harness. Go to Scosche dot com part lookup for your number - I think the wiring schematic is on the outside of the package, too.

Note:
using an optional snap on wire harness adapter will simplify the wiring. Most snap on
wire harness adapters have already converted and color coded the wires from the auto
makers in dash wire harness to match typical aftermarket radio wire colors.
** The wire colors listed in the chart above are typical for these vehicles during these years
but may not be the exact colors for this vehicle. This is another reason to use a snap on
wire harness adapter. **
