SOURCE: 2002 taurus passenger door lock

Mine did this. I went around to each door and sprayed a liberal amount of WD-40 in the latch, then open and closed each door about five times. It hasn't done it since. I think the switch inside was not moving freely.

I have onity lock after using guest key card i am getting green light but handle is not opening door

Listen if you hear a click sound when you get the green light. Try to turn the handle up. If you hear a click, and you can open the door when you turn the handle up, you have a bad clutch kit. If you do not hear a click, then your circuit board needs replaced.

Call if you have any more questions or need to order the parts.

Drivers door will not open with key or battery hand piece,,other doors okay with both. 2002 crv

-If the problem is that keyless remote does unlock or lock door, but the lock lever still move when pulling up and down by hand. Door still open and close with both inner and outer, then might the driver door lock actuator is bad. The actuator lock and unlock the door for you when using the keyless remote or door lock/unlock switch.

-if you try using the key to unlock door and the key doesn't turn the door cylinder, then you have a bad door lock cylinder.

-if the lock lever doesn't move up or down and you can't open door using any handle, then you got a bad lock latch assembly.

I'm not sure what the issue is but hope this helps you.

Two problems 1. the latch on the side door is in the down position 2. the latch from a different door won't close

i had this problem. I had a lock smith open the interior panel on the rare door he removed the lock mechanism and tripped the switch it engaged to allow the door to open and the lock to close again properly. it cost me $45.00. you might have a bad mechanism and need it replaced. I accidently hit the latch and caused it to be in the lock position so i was not able to completely close the gate.

Driver side door will not shut and it appears that the door lock is misaligned

Hello there RealPGMR,

What a coincidence, this just happened to a neighbor of mine.

In her case the locking mechanism had closed without being in the door.

Take a closer look at the lock jaws.
Are they open or closed?
If it's hard to tell, compare to the other door.
They should be open enough to accept the post on the door frame

If this seems to be the case, to fix it:
  • Get a screwdriver, don't use your finger.
  • Stand inside the door
  • Make sure it's unlocked
  • Stick the screwdriver where the post on the door frame would normally go.
  • Pull the door handle like you were trying to open the door while at the same time pulling the screwdriver towards you.
  • The jaws should release. The door should close.
If this is not the case, we can check the alignment of the mechanism. Let me know either way.
