there is an electric motor that moves the linkage to change where the air comes out..its under the dash to the right of the gas pedal........the problem is likely the linkages form that motor to your blend door that directs the air.its called the Heater Blend Door Actuator
hope this helps.......Good Luck!

For a 95 Chevy Silverado....I replaced the Blend Door Actuator on the passenger side. Just behind the slide out cup holder. Yo ucan acces easily by removing the ash tray piece and the glove box....Or just the glove box and work like hell to get a socket in a tight place.
There are 2 actuators....one controlling the (Mode and Temp 89018681) and the other the (Air Inlet 89018367). I called the dealer and the parts were 85-125. I got it From TBA Auto (local store) for 39.00. A 20 min job at most.

with the truck turned off pull the gear selector down to 1, tilt steering wheel as far down as it will go. now on the dash pull the trim ring 'bezel"
this is the piece that goes aroung the headlight switch over the gauges around the radio and the climat contols. once that is off the switch has to clips on on each side pull back both at once or one at a time the module will come right out

It could be a faulty fuel injector, try running a fuel injector cleaner through your fuel system. At worst the poppet nozzle has gone bad and will need to be replaced, you can buy the poppet nozzle it self individually at Auto Zone or buy upgrade MFI system which is much better and less pron to fuel leaking room a cracked poppet line or nozzle which will cause what you have described.
