the Alternator , has a bad regulator, get a new alternator.
it will fail, in the store, test, ASK THEM to test it.
its putting out 18 to 20 volts and will blow up the ECU/PCM and radio
of you dont stop and fix that now.
make sure the old one is not a clone ALT, and then buy a non clone.
buy a top rebuilt brand.

Sounds like your piston rings are bad causing excessive blow-by ...meaning your power is going around your rings and building massive crank pressure and using your dip stick housing as if it were a pressure relief valve ...motor needs to be rebuilt by an automotive machinist.

Blown fuses for the heater/ac, radio, cig lighter, and horn


Those four things should be on four different fuses.
As for the heater blower, I would unplug the blower motor to see if the short is in the motor. Someone will have to trace the circuits to find the short or shorts that are blowing the fuses. Could be something in the wiring harness that is touching bare metal.

Put rebuilt head on now engine smokes and has aqlot of blow by


any time you put a new or rebuilt head on top of a used motor you are going to get some sort of blow by. the more miles one the Rings the more blow by you will have. when you put on the rebuilt head south the new valves. you increased the compression ratio. thus making the worn rings from being able to hold back all the compression. next time at least drop the pan and put new rings in. better new pistions and hone the cylinders. best pull the block have it bored .20 over (which gives you a 2.0L ) have the crank turned. have the cams inspected for ware. and just replace old with new. yes.its more expenses in the beginning but well worth it. because look were you are now. to fix it you now have to start over with a lighter wallet

I have the same year car and what happened is the drivers door the wires bend where they enter the car from door and they break. I have fixed four wires in mine so far

Four Wheel drive not working. Blows fuses.


Hi:
Your four wheel drive push button system has only 3 components, so there is a way to narrow down what is blowing the fuse:

the system includes the push button panel and indicator light, the shift control module, and the shift control motor.

The shift control motor is the only part that can draw enough current to blow the fuse. If for some reason the transfer case is jambed up, that could blow the fuse too...So if you are planning on attempting repair yourself:

first, unplug the connector off of the shift control motor, and see if the fuse still blows.. if not, then remove the shift control motor from the side of the transfer case and plug it back in to the harness and see if the fuse blows. If so, then the shift control motor is bad, if the fuse doesnt blow then you need to check out your transfer case.

Blower motor doesn't blow anymore, This blows


If it blows only on high speed, it is the resister.
If it does not work at all, check fuses first. See owner manual for location.
Then check blower motor by jumping 12 volts from battery to blower motor. Make sure ground is jumped too.

If it works now, it's the control panel. If not, it is the motor.

Blower Motor —Front Removal and Installation
  1. Prepare the vehicle for blower motor (19805) removal.
    1. Disconnect the battery ground cable (14301). For additional information, refer to Section 414-01 .
    1. Remove the air cleaner assembly. For additional information, refer to Section 303-12 .
  1. Detach the speed control servo.
    1. Disconnect the electrical connector.
    1. Remove the bolt.
    1. Position the speed control servo aside.
  1. Position the coolant expansion tank/windshield washer reservoir aside.
    1. Remove the screws and the nuts.
    1. Position the coolant expansion tank/windshield washer reservoir aside.
  1. Remove the blower motor.
    1. Disconnect the vent hose.
    1. Disconnect the electrical connector.
    1. Remove the four screws.
    1. Remove the blower motor.

Heater Blower Motor Switch Resistor(s)
The front heater blower motor switch resistor has the following features:
  • The assembly is located in the engine compartment on the evaporator housing (19850) next to the blower motor assembly (19805).
  • Three resistor elements are mounted on the resistor board to provide four blower motor speeds.
  • Depending on the heater blower motor switch position, series resistance is added or bypassed in the A/C blower motor circuit to decrease or increase A/C blower motor speed.
  • An overheating device (thermal limiter) will open the resistor coil circuit when the temperature reaches 121°C (250°F), interrupting the blower motor operation in all speeds except high.
  • The thermal limiter cannot be reset and is not serviceable.

Upper block fills with antifreeze in between manifold and block


You have a blown head gasket. Did motor over heat? Is there antifreeze in the oil? If so head gasket, engine will need top end rebuilt, at minimum. Do not drive until repaired, you will blow up motor.

I have a 1992 ford explorer which will not shift into overdrive, nor does the four wheel drive work. What can be causing this. The tranny fluid level seems to be fine so I don't think that could be the...


I had/have both of these problems with my '92 Explorer. They were unrelated. My overdrive problem
required a transmission rebuild. My four wheel drive not working is apparently a problem with the
computer which is hidden behind the left rear quaterpanel (in the jack compartment). Your four wheel
drive problem could be as simple as a blown fuse. There are 2 fuses for the four wheel drive system.
One inside under the dash and another higher amp fuse under the hood on the battery side. Or it
could be the more expensive problem like my computer problem or the engagement motor needing
rebuilt. The computer has a diagnostic mode that you can access by pressing the little square white
button on the underside of it with the key turned on but the motor not running. If the little red light
next to the button stays on, then the computer is bad. If the light flashes, the engagement motor is
bad.
