check your timing chain and see if your engine has a tensioner as that may have failed. chain may be just a lil loose

SOURCE: suzuki grand vitara (J20A) and error code P0340.

p0340 is indicating a problem with the CMP sensor .. thats "camshaft position sensor" ... the 340 would indicate that the sensor is open or shorted (not giving information) ... look for disconnected or defective CMP or CAMP sensor ..

sounds to me that the ecm is not telling the injectors to fire. is the check engine light on? if so, have the codes read.

ours is J20a
its the hose that gets hot first.
this is the funny action engine that if hose 11
clogs for any reason the thermastat will go nuts.
(cycle) the means it must flow water in #11 at all times.
few know this fact. until it hits you.

1988 samurai 130 psi compression - is this ok


Checked on this....you should be up in the 170 area.
