Are you saying the cable broke? If so , you can reach up from under the front end and activate it manualy. lay on the ground and look straight up... it may take a lever of some sort (srewdriver?) to overcome the spring tension , but that is the way we do it at the salvage yard.
if it is not the cable... sometimes it helps if you have a friend slap the hood while you pull the release or you can stand in the open door and pull it and slap it yourself if you are not able to find someone to help.

under the hood in fuse/distribution box, also check on the drivers side. open drivers door look at the dash part there should be a door that says fuses other wise look under the dash about where your knees would be when sitting in the car. last place to look the little cover inside the front door where you would kick it when you get out of the car. happy hunting

Hood will not shut completely

You probably need a hood latch. Try a junkyard in your area for one. Make sure you open and close the hood a few times to make sure the one you're getting isn't also worn out.

Replacing the hood release cable.

When you open the hood, remove the plastic clips. they're should be around 5 or 6 of them. after that they're are 2 10mm screws on the bottom of your car. remove those. After you remove those. Then at the end where the fender connects to the bumper on both sides they're are 2 phillip screws.
