Loosen bolts on post(if side mounted posts remove bolts all the way) remove negative line then remove positive. There will be a bolt at the bottom side of battery that holds a plastic lip down so the battery cant move around. Remove that bolt and plastic piece. You will need a socket wrench and a 6" extension, you can probably get to it using a open/box end wrench but it would probably be a heck of a job. Thats it just install new battery in reverse order. Hope I could help out.

How do I remove battery from petrol 1.4 Citroen C3 54 plate?

do not know how many i have changed and cannot remember ,old age i reckon now thats not the one under the seat? two flickey levers on seat and remove headrest first or is that the picasso ? No its under bonnet so i think you remove the airfilter then you can get the cover off ,metal clamp then pull forewards to get to rear negative terminal .I remember in the good old days you could top the water up on a battery and if a cell was down you could change a cell as well .Also if foreman saw you hadnt topped battery up it was clipped ear time ,caught more than once then it strung up from the engine hoist and privates smothered in grease ,left there all afternoon ,you made sure batteries were topped up and every grease nipple greased and door hinges oiled ..

How do I change the battery

Undo the straps securing the battery.

The complicated bit. To save problems with cutting power to your radio and the ECM, you need to maintain power as you change the batteries over. Place the new battery on the side of the engine bay, in the right attitude to drop it into place. Take two pieces of insulated wire and twist it around the bottom of the terminals on the new battery, and the other end to the clamps on the old battery.

Remove the clamps on the old battery, and place it on the other side of the engine bay. Put the new battery into place. Put the clamps onto the new battery and slide them down. Tighten them loosely. Remove the wires from the bottom of the terminal and tap the clamps down and fully tighten.

Replace the holding strap.

Change battery

I just finished changing the battery myself on my own 2006 CLK500, so its clear in my mind. The battery is located under the hood (near the firewall) on the passengers side, just under the black plastic air cleaner housing, that is held in place by 3 metal clips. You need to unclip 3 clips, lift the air cleaner housing up and out to expose the 12V battery. You need a 10mm hex driver to remove the post clamps and a 13mm socket on the end of a 16 inch extension with ratchet to remove the 2 battery hold-down bolts, that are a bit hard to see without a flashlight (from the top, looking down). Remove the 13mm nuts and the bracket that holds the base of the battery in place and remove the battery. Installation is the reverse. Don't forget to install the battery acid drain hose and elbow, by removing it from the old battery. (It doesn't come with the new battery ($224.00 retail for new 12V battery). Also $35 core charge from Mercedes. That's it. And you'll have to reset your clock.

Alternator changed, now car will not start

Check cable between engine/gearbox and chasis, or bypass this cable during jump starting,by putting the - jump cable on the engine, if it starts your cable between engine and chasis has a bad connection.

Good luck

the easiest way might be to use a set of jump start leads & connect them to the new battery, then to the battery leads of the old battery before you disconnect them from the old battery, then remove the old battery & fit the new one being careful not to dislodge the jump leads then put the battery leads on the new battery.....hope this helps......cheers.

Put a pair of jumper cables on the battery terminals and connect it to another vehicle. When you remove the battery the other vehicle will power your memory and electrical system as a surrogate while you perform the swap.

Replacing battery

You need to remove the plastice shield, (3 plastic screws into core support, 1 screw to air filter housing). Under that you will see the battery hold down. Remove the one 12mm bolt and replace battery.
