Headliner for 1999 Buick LeSabre does not have a cardboard backing. What do I need to do to replace this headliner myself?

What kind of backing DOES it have. The fabric of the headliner cannot simply be glued to the roof frame. GM used a foam shell on many of its vehicles. Removal of the headliner must be done carefully to avoid breakage of the shell, although a small crack or two often is of no significance. Remove the old fabric by peeling it off the shell. This will usually leave a lot of the foam padding still clinging to the hard foam shell. This can be removed fairly easy with a vegetable brush, being careful not to gouge into the hard foam shell. There will still be a slight residue of the padding on the shell, but this is not a problem. At a fabric center, purchase a sufficient size piece of headliner fabric in a color that complements your interior. Ask the salesperson there to assist you in selecting the correct spray adhesive for the job. Dry fit the new headliner to the shell, leaving some extra on all sides that will be trimmed later. Fold back one half of the headliner fabric and apply the adhesive to both the shell and the back of the headliner fabric. Wait the specified time for the adhesive to prep, then, with assistance (its easier), roll the headliner back to the shell, ensuring no gaps or bubbles. Once you complete one half, fold back the other half and repeat. Cut any access holes needed (dome light, sun visor). Trim excess to edge of shell. Do not wrap the headliner around the side edges or it will not reinstall correctly. You may need to wrap the front and rear edges depending upon the trim on your interior. The edges will be hidden by the door and window trim. Reinstall shell.

Iam not getting oil to the lifters in my 308 oil pump works good iam lost

check the lubricating schematics and see if the front main bearing allows oil to the lifters . If this is the case then the bearing shell has been installed incorrectly (bottom shell in the block and not in the cap which will block oil to the top half of the engine. If no work has been done then check that the bearing shell has not spun and is blocking the oil passage.

clean your iac (idle air control) and then replace ignition plug wires and clean off terminals on coils before putting new wires on, use scotch brite pad or equivelent. could also be intake gaskets leaking, did you notice 1 or more spark plugs cleaner than the others when changing them, sign of burning coolant

How do you replace main computer 1991 cadillac deville

Note: if your car has a TheftLock radio, see the owner's manual before disconnecting the battery or you may inadvertently disable the radio.
When you find the PCM box, examine the connectors to see how the latches work (most automotive electrical connectors have one or two latches to keep them from coming apart under vibration and thermal cycling(. Usually the larger connectors such as you find on the PCM have a single hook on the side of the connector shell or one hook on each side of the shell. It may be a rocker-type hook that you squeeze on one side of a fulcrum to spread the hook away from the shell on the other side, or it may be a dual fork with a barb on each tine; for this one, you squeeze the tines together to unhook the barbs. Another type is a tab with a rectangular cutout that latches over a box-shaped protrusion on the mating shell. Warning: pull the connector off by the shell; DO NOT PULL ON THE WIRES. You don't want to break any.
This is the hard part of the job. You may find it easier to dismount the PCM box before disconnecting it; just be careful not to put stress on the wires. Some of them may actually be delicate coaxial cables that are not as strong as they look. To install the replacement just push the connectors on until they latch and remount the box (or do it in reverse order; whichever is more convenient), then reconnect the battery.
Check the owner's manual for directions "After replacing the battery." This may include steps for tuning the PCM for your car and driving habits (an automatic process once you get it started)..

2002 Chevy SC1 1500. 64,000 miles. Went to put in reverse, engine made a clunk sound and then whined. Now reverse will not work but just whines when put in that gear. Drive works normally. Any ideas?

Are you sure you have all the forward gears?(4speeds ,three shifts)This is a common problem with this transmission and it is almost always a broken reaction shell. The shell brakes due to a diagnostic code setting and putting the trans into a high pressure setting and braking the shell. It is possible that you have a problem n the reverse input clutches but this is rare.Eithe rway the transmission will need to be removed and diasssembled.Good luck and let me know if I can help.

My engine oil was changed by the RV dealer where I bought he 2007 Winnebago View with a 5 cylinder diesel. The oil is "black" and not clear like I am used too. Is that normal? Also if I have to...

If it is a cummins engine use Shell Rotella oil 15/40. This is what cummins recommends. Use the same if a mercedes engine. Black oil in a diesel is normal so don't worry.

Looking for a free diagram of the heater core installation for a 2000 jeep grand charakee

do not think one exists i work as a mechanic in a very well supplied shop when it comes to technology we have all data programs snap on shop key systems you name it and we are talking serious money and we still don,t get diagrams some skeechy drawings about it it tells you certain components necessary for removal and installation but on a grand cherokee it takes a good mechanic in a shop enviroment all day to replace the heater core i personally like room to move around so i remove front seats center console the steering column and steering wheel all have to come out or disconnected enought to lay down on floorboard passenger side air bag has to be removed a/c system has to be evacuated of all freon cooling system/radiator drained then comes what seems like a hundred well hidden screws all under trim panels on dash shell that has to be removed at this point remove entire dash shell assembly you will see the heat/ac box on fire wall it has to be removed once out of vehicle the two halves has to be unbolted and remove heater core i could type another couple of pages most likely so if your not up to all of this you would most likely benefit by letting a reputable repair shop tackle this good luck and hope this helps some

Transmission

Well ,

If the fluid is dark, burnt , or has metal or dark clutch material.
The transmission has a burnt up clutches ,the sun shell in most cases with this transmission is the cause of failure inside. The sun shell holds the clutches and steels in place . When the sun shell breaks the transmission is loosing pressure inside. Then the clutch are not engaging . This is why the transmission is slipping This is a very common problem with this vehicle. The sensors/ soleniods are located in the valve body of the transmision. There are some cases where a transmission shop can tighten the sun shell or bands. This could be a temporary fix, The best thing to do is have the transmission replaced or rebuilt at your local transmission repair shop

Transmissions

1500 series truck uses the 4L60E transmission, and a common failure on that model is the reverse sun shell. The shell has a collar with splines that engage splines on the sun gear. The shell either strips the splines,or breaks the collar,.either way,the shell is inoperative and needs replacing.Aftermarket transmission parts businesses sell a heavy duty version of this reverse shell, called the beast. It is made of much thicker steel and won't strip or break.
