Ok thank you for the FAST reply..but I know it wasnt just the blade. It was a metal piece. I want to say its the arm. But my main concern is what caused this problem anyway. I know i dont have too much info but figured i could start somewhere. =)

quick story is... the arm is from the bolt (post) at the front of the car up to the windsheild that holds the wiper blade
that's fairly easy to replace... but it sounds like you have another issue as well... not horridly expensive to fix either... happened to me once too.... there are little clips that hold the arms onto the wiper motor... the arms you can't see... it sounds like one of them has come off.... some disassmbly would be required ... the clips are cheap

your boyfriend ... or the windshield wiper.... you need to inspect what was damaged... if it was just the wiper blade that is a fairly easy fix... if it was the arm itself your best and cheapest bet is to go to a junk yard for the part

The wiper system has a series of linkages, they are located at the bottom of the windshield (under the plastic at the bottom of the windshield) there are pivots that connect the pieces together and one of them has likely worn out and disconnected itself from the system.....if you are handy it isn't a big job.......just remove the plastic cover at the bottom of the windshield(usually held in place by several screws and sometimes a few clips) and locate the failed part them replace it .Good Luck!
hope this helps! thanks for choosing FIX YA!

2003 cavalier only one wiper works

If one works the motor is ok. The issue is morre than likley the linkage under the crowel below the windsheild. it has com apart or the wiper transmission is bad. Try accessing that arrea to get a look. you will probably see the control arm just lying on the bottom, possably along with the nut that fell off the back of the transmission.

Windshield wipers do not work, tried checking fuse box under hood but all fuses are working. Need to know where fuse is located for windshield wiper, or where windsheild wiper motor is.

There is also a fuse module located on the passenger side of the center console under the dash. You can pull the plastic cover panel off by hand. This should be where the wiper motor fuse is located.

2002 ford crown vic. driver side wiper not working? passenger side works

the linkage between the wiper motor and the wiper arms needs to be replaced. the stud on the one side is stripped and that is why it doesn't work as it should. this happens usually when the wipers are left on in the winter with the blades freezing to the windsheild. turn on the car with frozen blades tends to strip out the teeth holding the wiper arms onto the linkage

Windsheild Wipers will not move, the arm seems to be slipping on the motor shaft,

It sounds like you live in a climate were snow and ice occurs. If so a lot of people leave their wipers on upon shutting off their cars. If you happen to do that and the windsheild had moister on it or if the snow starter falling while your vehicle was still warm it will freeze. The larger the snow amount the stronger the force will be if you start your vehicle up the next morning with your wipers buried in frozen ice & snow. Since the wipers were not shut off the wiper motor will run and the wiper blades will not. This will strip the linkage the wiper arms press onto leaving you with out working windsheild wipers
