Question about 1992 Ford Ranger
My trans fluid is low, when I start the truck the fluid poors out of the starter weap hole underneath, then the leak stops, when the truck is running it seems to be fine and runs well, just the leak on a cold start.
Remove the transmission & see if the front pump seal is worn,
where the torque converter goes in

I would change the filter first, if that doesnt help check the fuel pressure. if it doesnt hold around 30psi fuel pump could be bad.

If you have never done this before,it may be best to take the truck to a shop or have some one with experience help you. You will need the truck up far enough to take out the transmission. The linkage and drive shaft has to be removed, then unbolt the transmission from the bell housing.Special tools may be needed to pull and replace the seal.
Transmission fluid needs to be changed since it is a brownish color.
