Question about 2010 Honda Accord Crosstour

1 Answer

I hit the unlock button and the horn went haywire honking erratically. Had to pull fuse for horn to kill it. Replaced fuse and it works normally. What happened?

I called dealer and they offered "never heard of that problem". They offered to check it. Suggested that if it happened again, try using the key in the door lock.

I don't know what else to add. Perhaps I hit the unlock button on the key more than once or possibly the unlock and lock button.

The horn went on and off in a very irregular manner.

SOURCE: electric door locks work erratically

If this is a factory alarm, I suggest taking it to the dealer of purchase and having the service department check into it.

Let me know if you need further assistance.

SOURCE: honda accord power window control from Driver

drivers switch panel serves as the brain for all windows in vehicle, and if the other windows work from thier switch then the main switch is most likly good, look inside the door for the motor, and apply power and ground to it, if it works, then its the wires to the motor, and if not then replace the motor.(cold affects these motors really bad, as the grease gets thicker with cold and puts stress on the motor, and can burn it out.if everything there is ok, then the electronic part of that switch is lost and will require a new one.

SOURCE: Can I stop my horn from sounding when I lock my 2009 Accord

You might can have the dealer program it not to honk, but its just the way the keyless entry works. I've owned 2 accords--an 06 and 08--and both of them honk the horn when the lock button is pressed twice. Pressing the button once will secure the car and arm the alarm. So once click is all you really need. And no your alarm is not malfunctioning.

Sure sounds like your problem is the power door lock control unit. Best thing to do is get a replacement unit(new or used) and install it, unless you can open and fix the defective unit yourself.

Saturn Keep blowing horn fuse

Could be a short in the steering wheel or column. Or a faulty horn relay.
You may need a wiring diagram to trace the circuits from the relay.
Usually the black wire is the ground and the green is voltage from the relay.

The horn in my 2003 pontyiac grand am wont stop honking

you will find a fuse labeled HORN and a relay labeled HORN in the under hood fuse flock. Pull either of those to stop the horn from blowing.

If you need info on how to fix it i can help. You will need a test light or a voltmeter.

You can also try swapping the horn relay with another relay in the fuse block that is the same. If the horn works normally than the relay is bad and will need to be replaced.

The horn dose not honk, ford 150, 2005

Did you check the fuse for the horn ?

Next, check the horn connector with a meter ( set to DC volts ) and have someone press the horn button, you should get + DC at the connector.

If not, pull the horn relay, and jumper the normally open contact ( red line in the diagram below )

With this jumpered, and the horn fuse good, the horns should sound. If not, recheck the fuse or could be an issue with the horn connector.

My horn is going to get me killed!

pull the horn fuse in the fuse panel either under the dash or under the hood, or you can pull the plastic trim around the column and find the wire for the horn and unplug them but you may have to get behind the airbag to do this, best bet pull the fuse. please rate and that is just too funny i probably would have been pretty mad at you also lol -jeff

Pontiac Aztek GT

Ours did the exact same thing. It eventually did the 'disco effect' where the head lights were flashing constantly and horn honking. It would only stop if we took the fuse for the Body Control Module out for 30 seconds.
Only that was a temporary fix. It finally got so bad that the car locked itself down and we had to take it in. The BCM had to be replaced (cost us $350) and it seems to do a lot better, but the radio is still locked but it might just have to be reset. Hope it helps!
