Run a wire from brake switch directly to lights instead of through your fuse box. Not a good idea but thats how it would be done.

How do I get my 2000 jeep shifter unstuck at console?

ANON DP added, lamps. blow fuse.

the park lockout works 2 ways

1 way is brake lights must work

so, fix brake lights and bingo , magic happens.

id bet , trailer lamp wires, shorted, by uhaul goons.?

the bypass feature is covered in the operators guide. lost that?

some cars have key slot at shifter, to bypass it

some have a small cover there hiding the bypass lever. (emerg. lever)

others have none. (on some newer cars the USA gov. made the

bypass illegal.)

part of the antithetic rules, can just move car, easy in neutral laws.

before mucking about in cab. defeat the air bags first or boom, neck busted.

buy the FSM and read it. for safety and to find these parts and test them.

of the glove box guide does not mention it, you dont have it.

(the bypass method) lost that?

the fuse blows because the brake lamp feed wire is shorted.

saving a fire, in the wire.

its shorted, why not fix that first?

Brake light not work. done all checking blubs is good, replace switch, replace relay, fuse all good. turngal work hazzard light work but no brake light. i bypass on relay it work so i cant leave short...

the brake light switch powers the wire which goes to the turn signal switch. So I think if the turn signals works, then the turn signal switch is bad. Check for power at the wire going from the brake switch to the turn signal switch. . Since you didnt tell what year or model the truck is, I cant tell you what the wire color is.

My 2003 aviator gear is locked in park and will not move

check to see if your brake lights work. No? check your brake light fuse. OK? change your brake light switch. Your brake light switch powers the brake / shifter interlock. There is usually a way to bypass the interlock- check your owners manual for bypass button location ( its usually next to the shifter)

My brake light is on and it keeps ding ding dinging and its very anoying because the E-brake is off. my problem is i lost the cover for my fuse box under the dash, so i dont know what one to pull to stop...

First, do not attempt to bypass a safety related issue by pulling a fuse. The brake light and alarm signal is performing it's designed function by indicating a fault that needs to be corrected.

Check the brake system completely. The Brake fluid level sensor could be low. Now rather than just add fluid, keep in mind that the level may be low because the brakes are worn. Worn pads & shoes cause the calipers to extend which requires additional fluid, causing a "low" fluid level.

Also check to ensure the ABS sensors are OK.

Not your typical brake light problem...

hello what i would do first disconnect the wires off the brake light switch test the power wire to make sure you have power to the switch if you do contact them to bypass the switch completely test see if your lights are lit if not i would trace the wiring back to the sockets contacts inside might be corroded or wires in the socket are not contacting the metal tab or broken at the crimp they sell replacement sockets you can splice into the harness if you dont have power at the break light wires you need to trace wires back to fuse panel first check to make sure there is not a secondary fuse box under your hood usually on drivers side near the strut tower usally says fuses goodluck please rate
