Sounds like one of your blend doors is not closing. There should be only 1 blend door motors on your car.lookat the dash and try to close it by hand,if there is a difference then you will need a blend door motor

My heat works great in the front but the rear vents only blow cold

The blend door actuator is located in the left rear quater panel. It's right there when you remove the trim panel (left side rear) Below is a picture of it when panel is removed along with another picture of the air duct system. I also gave you a picture of the connector at the actuator. Make sure you are geting power and test opening and closing. Worst case you could make the blend door stay to where you are geting heat until you can repair the problem...11_6_2012_12_34_03_am.jpg11_6_2012_12_34_21_am.jpg11_6_2012_12_34_35_am.jpg11_6_2012_12_34_48_am.jpg

2003 ford taurus blows lukewarm when the heat is on. Blower blows fine and a/c works great.

Check out the heater hoses for warmth. Both should be the same with the water flowing. If they are not, the water is not circulating.

There are 2 ways the heater can work. One style varies the amount of water flow to control the heat levels. The other uses the blend flaps in the ducts to push air flow around the heater core.

If the heater hoses are not circulating water, a part called a flow valve is to blame. Check out the autoparts sites for photos of the flow valve for your car. If you have the blend flap system, a solenoid called a "motor" is not changing the position of the blend flap in the dashes' ductwork.

it sounds like a bad blend door motor.these are controlled electrically and not with a cable like older vehicles did.

Heater does not work

Check blend door motor for proper operation (vacuum operated) if necessary, detach arm from heater box and move by hand. If you have heat then, change motor! You are reaching operating temp for engine, right? If not, thermostat is stuck open... Change.
