I have a 2003 Ram 1500 with problems with the electric door locks. The temperatures here have been extremely cold (-20f) and the problem started when the left rear door wouldn't un/lock electrically. Now the driver side front door won't lock/unlock electrically either. I saw a mini-van with a similar problem and a suggested solution of the control panel. Any suggestions before taking it to the dealer? One design flaw I see is that snow gets onto the drivers side contol panel when opening the door. I try to minimize the amout of rain/snow getting on the panel but it's impossible to keep it completely dry.

PO420 code tells you the catalytic converter is not reaching the proper temperature .. that is measured by the back oxygen sensor (just behind the CAT ... make sure the heat shield is in place (in cold weather) .. you can check for a rattle in the cold CAT (thats bad) .. the rear O2 sensor can be bad or you could have a bad catalytic converter or one thats on it way to being bad .. there are some tests a mechanic can do .. 1. a back pressure test 2. measure the temperature of the CAT surface .. it should be around 225 deg F (after warmup) .. a non contact (IR) thermometer is handy for this .. make sure the pipe behind the CAT and the muffler are not leaking ..some "high flow rate " replacement mufflers will cause the trouble ..
run a status check on the pcm. sometimes those probs are in the computer. the loghts will come on when the remote is activated, and the door locks should lock automatically when you start to drive. if that doesn'tr happen, suspect a computer glitch.
