Question about 2001 Kia Sportage
I have a 2001 kia sportage, i have lost the key, it didnt have an immobiliser button on the key etc, but when i had a locksmith cut me another key he told me he could not get it started because of the immobiliser.. how do i bypass the immobiliser?

Rule of thumb...unless you get a better answer: look for a couple of wires on a small plate that is in the airflow of the fan on the heater/ac unit. The resistor pack is always air cooled by the fan.

SOURCE: 1998 kia sportage wont start.
We fixed the problem.Look in the fuse box on right hand side under steering wheel near door and check your fuses.We had a blown fuse 3rd down from top, number 15 with stop on it.Changed the fuse and immobilizer works again. Everything going again and radio no longer cutting out. Hope this works for you. Good luck.
