Question about Cars & Trucks

1 Answer

I have a 95 Honda accord ex it has around 202,000 miles. It ran fine when I test drove it I filled it up with gas & two days after I bought it started running rough so I've changed fuel filter, plugs, wires, distributor, cleaned egr,tps sensor & calibrated it also..it still runs rough at times around 1500 to 2500 rpms..long as Ur gettn on the gas it runs ok but when Ur tryn to cruse around 35 to 45 mph it shutters & seems to miss out when taken off given it gas it doesn't want to go like Ur running out of gas then it takes off like a bout of hell..any info would be much appreciated thank you

spider injection is a common problem with these vehicles, is it consuming gas more than usual, is the oil smelling like gas? The spider is located under the upper intake plenem. There is also a fuel pressure regulator connected to the spider assembly that may be faulty.

If it is idling at low rpms and running rich that tells me that it is probably getting the right amount of fuel, just not enough air. This would direct me to look at the air filter, mass air flow sensor (which you have replaced so more than likely not that) the map sensor or Manifold Air Pressure sensor, or the IAT or Air Intake Temperature sensor. I would say that it would be one of the three.

You must perform an engine control module fault code test as well as test the fuel pressure, if no codes are present and fuel pressure is ok check for a defective camshaft drive belt.

You probably picked up some "trash" in the tank. There is a screen at the pump intake inside the tank that may have collapsed or become clogged. The fix for this? Pull the fuel pump, clean/replace the screen.

96 Benz ran out of gas other day, got it filled up & drove home (20 miles). Next day drove about 40 miles, left car running in park for about 15 min, when I left car was stalling like it was running o

You never leave a car running, as it will
overheat the Exhaust Converter
When you run out of fuel, you sometimes
ruin the Fuel Pump
It depends on gas to lubricate it,as strange as it sounds
Check fuel pressure & volume at the motor with a gauge

if overheats, and trows water or steam, there you can think on the water pump or the thermostat, but you only have a signal problem, try replacing the tempeture sensor.

92 Honda accord ex D4 light/acceleration problem

Change your main relay assembly under the dash on drivers side. I was able to get my small hands under there and change mine out readily--not easy to get to as I didn't want to take the dash apart, but I got it done. If you have other problems after then find you a used TCU unit and change it out (passenger side where they put their feet, pull the carpet up, you will see easy, easily replaceable).
