That was a reset, try a relearn. You'll need a charger on the battery. Ten minutes on, thirty seconds off. Do this three times, then try to start. If that doesn't work, then it has to go on a scanner to see what happened. Sparks like yours usually don't hurt anything. But they can spike and burn a computer. Next time put the positive side on first.
Most likely causes are bad engine coolant temp sensor OR leaking fuel injectors. Bad engine coolant temp sensor will give computer false reading and computer provides wrong air fuel mixture. Leaking fuel injectors will load the engine with raw gas--just like flooding it. Try pushing the gas pedal to the floor and holding it there when cranking when hot. That forces the computer into "clear flood" mode and it shuts off the injectors. If it starts up with pedal down, that would be a sign of leaking injectors.
Hi Dress, Have a diagnostic inspection carried out and at the same time ask for a new fuel filter to be fitted. After that has been done ask for a fuel pressure test to be carried out on the fuel pump. It should be 3.4 bar and if its lower it requires replacement. Regards John

DOES THE SECURITY LIGHT FLASH WHEN YOU TRY TO START IT AND RELEASE THE KEY AT THE RUN POSITION? IF IT DOES WAIT FOR TEN MINUTES WITH THE KEY IN THE RUN POSITION. WHEN THE SECURITY LIGHT STOPS FLASHING TURN OFF THE IGNITION AND COUNT TO THIRTY AND TRY TO START THE ENGINE. THIS WILL RESET THE THEFT SYSTEM BUT MAY NOT FIX YOUR PROBLEM.
IS THERE A CODE B2960 STORED IN THE BODY CONTROL MODULE?
IF SO THE MAIN REASONS FOR THE NO START LIKE YOU DESCRIBE ARE THE IGNITION THEFT MODULE, THE WIRING TO THE BODY CONTROL MODULE, OR THE BODY CONTROL MODULE.
THIS SYSTEM IS A ROYAL PAIN TO DIAG AND GET IT RIGHT THE FIRST TIME. YOU REALLY NEED SOMEONE WHO KNOWS THE SYSTEM TO FIX IT RIGHT THE FIRST TIME.
U HAVE TWO FUSE BOXES IN THE FRONT , ONE ON TEH RIGHT FIREWALL AND ONE ON THE LEFT DRIVERSIDE FIREWALL. ITS USUALLY THE DIRVEERSIDE FIREWALL. SLIDE THE TABS FOR THE COVER TO THE UNLOCK PICTURE, IT SHOULD BE A BLUE 15 AMP FUSE. EASY WAY TO CHECK IS IF THE CIGAR LIGHTER LIGHT TURNS ON WITH THE HEADLAMPS ON THEN ITS GETTING POWER . YOUR CIGAR LIGHTER IS PROBABLY NO GOOD.
