You first have to disarm and remove the air bag (unscrews with bolts from behind the steering wheel) and then you will see the screws for the switches. Only the silverado awitches will work.

Try unhooking the positive post on the battery this should reset the system. As far as the radio controls and airbag, this shouldn't be related the changing parts. Try checking the fuse panel for burnt out fuses.

Reach behind, there are 4 screws. Remove these screws and pull of air bag assembly. Make sure negative battery cable has been disconnected for 10 minutes and SRS fuse has been pulled. Once the air bag assembly is off, pull the horn wire off, then remove steering wheel nut and washer and pull of the wheel.
