The cold might have an effect, but have you checked for debris stuck on a few of the sensors on the bumper?

hope you find the problem before it drives you nuts. i hate to say it, but its all part of the BMW ownership/experience. all three of my BMWs have had little quirks, but luckily they have been covered by a warranty.

maybe one sensor in the rear is bad causing the problem.

also, is there a separate switch for the front sensors when in drive? if so when you push it and drive forward, so you also get an error? if error when in drive (forward) and reverse, then could be the brain of the system. good luck with it all. sorry i could not have been of more help.

How to replace turn light on bmw x5

partially remove the desired light by remove the 4 8mm screws, two ont the top and two at bottom behing the light, pull the light out far enough that you can see the socket, you should be able to remove it at that point. You should also check the contact of the bulb as it is most likely burned or melting and has damaged the socket so you should replace he socket and bulb as the warning may still be present even though the bulb works. Also the rear tail lights have a corrosion and burning issue as well on the brake contacts.

Yellow light go on saying service engine soon

you need to have a scanner hooked up to tell you what faults you have as far as the service is concerned that is something completely different

Backing signal keeps on blinking on my bmw x5

Sorry this is not a solution, but my 1999 BMW 328i also has a problem on this area. My left signal keeps blinking even though I have the lever in neutral. Can somebody tell me what the problem might be? thanks.

On my bmw x5 the backing sensor light keeps on blinking.

hello there

Sounds like one of your sensors is dead, but start buy cleaning all your sensors, dirt and ice can give a false reading, if you still have the same problem, with the engine off and the key turned on, put the car in reverse and listen to each sensor buy putting a screw driver on each sensor and putting your ear on the other end, the sensor should be giving a clicking sound, the one that does not have a clicking sound is faulty and needs to be changed.

Hope this helps, please don't forget to rate me.
