a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

It is located on the keyless entry module located under the drivers side dash. There will be a five digit code on the side of the box facing the passenger side. Enter the code and it should unlock. Follow owners manual to change the code, it will store both codes at the same time and either should work.

Sadly there are no free online manuals for this vehicle. The best way to find information on repairs for free would be to join a Sable/Taurus car club (since the two cars are the same at this generation.)

Look under the dash above the accel pedal and you should see the module. It will or should have a sticker on it with a 5 digit code. This will be the code you need. You can then put your own 5 digit code in if you want. Just put the 5 digit code in then hit the number 2 and put your own 5 digit code in.This new code will remain unless you disconnect battery or battery goes dead then it will revert back to the original code.

Q: Are you wearing your seat belt? Yes? No?
Solution: Put on your seat belt!!!!!! Save a life!!!
Soultion: There has to be a fuse either under the dash or under the hood that controlls the chime.
There is a switch in the seatbelt connecter that controlls the chime. It has either failed or the wireing that carried the signal to shut the chime off has been damaged.
