Mazda 1997 626 transmission dosn't work afer trans oil change

I change the trans oil and found that, you can't change the filter by taking off the trans oil pan only. The hole thing has to be taken appart. So I just put the pan back added the oil through a little hole at the top of the trans oil pan, put averything together and started the car and nothing happend. The car didn't shift in to gear, no reverse and no other gear eather. Did the oil neede to go somewere alse. Did a selenoid move out of place. Need help.
thanks

Make sure your fluid level is at the proper level and you should be ok. Nothing will move by taking just the pan off and draining the old oil. It does take quite a bit of oil and the right amount as well. So double check your fluid levels. Thanks for using FixYa! Good Luck.

Sincerely.

please do not have your transmission flushed , have someone take the oil pan off and replace the filter as well and what ever trans oil you take out replace it as well . no automotive repair shop will warrenty your trans if it should suddenly stop working , but just for your satisfaction ask the transmission repair shop who flushs trans if they guarantee it and have them put it in writing . ive never understood why flush dirty oil and leave the dirty filter in the trans , it collected all dirt and metal wear which is what is causing it to plug up causing it to restrict the oil flow

While i was doing off road driving a warnning light (a/t oil temp) turn on, i looked underneath the car and i found oil leak drop after drop, not too sure now should I change the transmition oil and filter...

Change the transmission fluid and filter. The light says fluid temp. is high, so you may have some burnt fluid-deadly for transmissions. Drop the trans. pan and look for metal shavings-too much will indicate failure of transmission parts. If not too much, you may be alright with fluid and filter change.
Stop the leak,. make sure it is trans. fluid, not motor oil. If motor oil, stop the leak and change oil and filter. I would do the transmission regardless, since the light came on.

2001 hyundai transmission seems to buck as if almost staling and slips when excellerating from a stop

YOUR TRANS NEEDS A FILTER AND OIL CHANGE YOU CAN DO IT YOUR SELF JUST BUY A FILTER KIT REMOVE THE PAN AND DROP THE OIL UNDOO THE BOLTS AT THE REAR OF THE PAN AND SLOWLEY MOVE FORWARD THAT WAY THE OIL WILL RUN OUT OF THE BACK OF THE PAN MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A LARGE FLAT CONTAINER TO CATCH THE OIL
CHANGE THE FILTER AND RE FIT THE PAN YOUR TRANS SHOULD TAKE ABOUT 3.5 L OF OIL
SYNTHETIC TRANS OIL IS MORE EXPENSIVE BUT IT WORKS ALOT BETTER THAN STANDARD OIL

I don't believe you have one. You just need to get the trans flushed.

You are going to need a transmission shop. Mazdas do not always throw codes. You have an early OBD transmission, which do not send out many codes.

Service trans every 2 years or 24,000 miles.Buy a trans filter kit, remove trans oil pan, replace or clean filter(some tranys has a wire mesh screen in them that is cleaned, not replaced),replace oil pan & refill with recommended amount & proper type of fluid.REMEMBER THIS:CLEANLINESS IS GODLINESS WHEN WORKING ON AUTO TRANS,DON'T LEAVE ANY PIECES OF RAGS OR ANY OTHER MATERIAL INSIDE OF TRANS!!!
