Check the brake fluid level. If the level is low the brake light will come on. If the brake fluid is low enough to turn on the light it may be a good time to check the brakes. If you see smoke from the column than pull the covers and check for burnt wires. Most likely there is a pin burning in one of the connectors for the multifunction switch or ignition switch.

SOURCE: PT Cruiser Brake Light

The bulb in the rear light has burned out and to replace it follow these instructions: 1) go to your owner's manual to find out the part number. You can find and purchase the replacement bulb at Target, any auto parts store and even at Walmart for under $4.00; 2) pop open the trunk door; 3) get a phillips screw driver and unscrew the 2 screws holding the rear brake light fixture to your car body; 4) as soon as you turn over the fixture you'll see where to pull out the burned out bulb and replace it with the new one(s). Good luck!

sounds like your heater core has a leak in it. take your sunroof off and get some rubber revitalizer at a glass shop. Try cleaning it and using the rubber rejuvenator on it.

SOURCE: ABS light & trak off light keep coming on.

It sounds like "False Antilock Mode" to me. Your Antilock Brake Control Module "thinks" that you have a wheel locking up. This is probably caused by a bad wheel sensor. You need to scan the module to find out which one.

Why dose it sound like plastic hitting something from front drivers side

You may want to check inside of front drivers side wheel well - sometimes there are plastic liners that come loose and need some screws to reattach.

Burning smell by back tire on driver side

This smell may be one of two things, first take a look at the exhaust to make sure you didnt get a plastic bag or something like that stuck on the hot exhaust and its burning off, that would cause the smell and i have seen this many times. if theres nothing on the exhaust then the next thing would be the brake . jack the car up after a drive and you smell the burning and see if the wheel spins freely, if the wheel is hard to turn then you have a brake problem in that wheel and you will need to remove it and take a look at the brakes, if the wheel spins then still remove the wheel and check for a leaking wheel cylinder as if that leaks on the hot drum and shoes it will cause a smell. and could run low on fluid or blow out and then you would loose most of the braking. good day.

An odor (not electrical in nature) coming from the driver's side tire area of the front of the car, steam was seen multiple times, something is getting real hot and has a hot smell to it

Sounds like you have a brake caliper draging. this will ruin the rotor and brake pads. Have it checked ASAP as it's also dangerous = the brake on that whell may fail.

There is smoke coming from our steering wheel.

I've seen a few turn signal switches cause this problem. I think that lubricant in the switch gets between the electrical contacts inside the switch and they become hot as a result of the poor connections this causes... at least that's what appears has happened to the ones I've taken apart. Often a small melted spot can be seen on the body of the switch which is the source of the smell and smoke. I've replaced a few of these over the years and never had the problem reappear.
