Radio Fuse is good, how ever radio wont turn on, what other than fuse could be my problem?

I show two fuses in the power distribution center (in the trunk?). The fuses are 36 and 40. There could have been a spontaneous failure of the power switch, i.e., it works mechanically but does not turn on power.

Replaced battery, no power to radio now, help!

Most radios have a fuse in main fuse panel and a fuse on the rear of the unit. It is a common problem for the one on the radio itself

Check the fuse in the fuse box located on the inside drivers side bottom left of the dash. Pull the radio fuse which you can locate by looking on the back of the fuse panel door. Replace it with a fuse rated at the same amperage as the one you remove. Let me know if you have already done this and I will try to help you further. Please rate me on this answer.

I have a 2001 f-150 the radio doesn,t work,i bought a used one off ebay,i also checked the fuses,still nothing

which fuse did you replace... the radio uses three!
you need to check fuse # 1, #8 and #20 in the CJB (central junction box) under the dash

assuming these are good then pull the radio out again and check for power at the radio pins number 3, 9 and 10

assuming these are good check your ground while you are there....use the test light with the good poser at the radio pin # 10 and then ground at the radio pins #2, 11 and 16

Cigarette lighter plug not working

hopefully nothing serious. if you can, make sure your wires did not burned or got too hot.Visually inspect them. Then, if you have a voltmeter check to see if you getiing power to it. no voltmeter? Go to your nearest auto parts store and ask for a test light. Back to the lighter, if you have power on the wires or wires leading to the back of the lighter, more than like it you lighter burned out.  No power on the wires? make sure wire did not get fryed or burned, all wires look good? check fuses again.  worst case scenario, can't find problem ? you can run another wire from your fuse box to the lighter.

It seems that your wheel bearings are about done for from your description. A good way to check them is to jack one wheel up and grab the top and bottom and sides of your tire and work it back and forth to check for play. If your bearings are going out you definitely need to address this ASAP else you may lose a tire while going down the interstate and you dont want that right? As far as your radio is concerned, if you replaced the fuse or fuses and can verify your radio is indeed getting power (you may have to pull the radio out and check for power at the wire harness) then maybe its time for a new radio as factory radios do not seem to be very reliable for many years these days. And as far as the V belt goes, simply replace it. Good luck!!!

Radio Dead

When it comes to independent auto shops, its tough to get them to take responsibility if they did something wrong, thats why most people with a car as nice as your wouldnt trust it to just any shop. Theres nothing in a timing belt job that would cause the radio to stop working, unless some connector is loose or a bad ground somewhere. There are 3 fuses you may want to check... Radio No. 1 20A, Radio No 2 7.5A, Dome 7.5A. These all send power to the radio's circuit. If all 3 are good, It would have to be an internal problem in the radio.

2005 Malibu MAXX car stereo dead, rear radio too.

Please check your owners manual for the location of the 10 amp fuse for the radio. On some models you have to reset the security feature on the radio/CD player for it to work.

The info below has been stated to work on a no go radio. I have not confirmed this procedure.

Remove the lower fuse box cover, with the power off, removed the 10 Amp fuse for the "Radio." the fuse may be good. Fuses are diagrammed in the owner's manual. With the fuse removed, start the car, turn the car off, replace the fuse and turn the key to "ACC" to see if the radio was "Reset."

Would the alarm cause the radio to malfunction? If your Anti Theft lock was activated check your owners manual under radio and check for a 4 number password. Sometimes it is taped to the upper part of the glove box. If you do not have the CODE you will need to take the vehicle to a dealership or a repair center. They use your vehicles vin number get the code.
