SOURCE: I smashed the plastic housing of my 97 Saturn tail light

The assembly is all one piece. You'll have to replace the entire assembly. You could go to an automotive store and buy a lens repair kit. They sell the ones that are rolls of tape, or ones that are sheets of plastic. I believe the rolls are $5 and the sheets are $10. The sheets are much more durable and usually, just using the sheet won't require you to replace the assembly as it's got really good adhesive. The tape doesn't last and is only a temporary fix whereas the sheets are a permanent fix

SOURCE: How do I remove the headlight assembly

if you have the regular headlights(not the HID) there is a TSB for that at the dealer and they will fix it for free as long as you are under the 36000 miles,,anyhow to get the headlight out you need to remove the front bumper cover,,pop the hood, remove all the pushpin that hold the plastic panel on near the front area then remove the plastic cover,,,,,then there are some phillips head screws along the front of the top of the bumper cover take these out,,,,now remove both front wheels,,remove the bolts that hold the inner fender liners inplace there are some in front and under the lower bumper cover take these out too,,,,then under the front bumper cover at about the middle there will be 2 bolts i think 10mm remove theses to,,,,now where the side of the bumper cover meets the fender inside there are 3 bolts on each side remove these i think they are 7 or 8mm and then pull the bumper cover off,,,if you have fog lights disconnect the plugs,,then you will see all the bolts holding the headlight in take them out and then it comes out,,,,i know its alot of work just for a headlight ,,,,

SOURCE: 2008 Saturn Outlook - How do I replace the low

This has to be done by pulling the bumper off. More then likely there will be a burned up harness (recurring problem with the 2008 Saturn Outlook) the cost from my Saturn dealership is $185.00 to replace the harness and bulb. Very poor engineering when you have to pay $185.00 to change a bulb.

Almost all vehicles made in the last 10 to 15 years,
require you remove the tail light housing, to get to
the lamps

That usually is removing 3 or 4 nuts ,inside, behind the trim

You can google the question & try you tube video for that also

Relpaceing reverse light saturn outlook 2008

To replace the reverse light, you have to remove at least partially the inside trim of the rear hatch/lift gate. There's video of doing this on the Chevy Traverse here, which is basically the same vehicle. If you need to work on the right-hand/passenger side, you'll need to remove the plastic cover over the door handle (the inside handle used to pull the lift gate down). The plastic cover snaps on and off, then there are two screws you need to remove. I used the tip from the video link above along with removing the screws under the handle (7mm worked, may not be an exact fit) to replace my passenger side reverse light unit since it was cracked. This was a very easy repair which cost me about $50 for the part, the dealer wanted almost $300 for the full job--shame on you dealers! Hope this helps.

2008 Outlook, was just told by dealer that front facia is required to be removed to replace a headlight bulb for a total of 1.5 hrs labor. Is this true? $300 to change a light bulb? Is there another way?

You can remove the inner fender well and gain access to the bulb with a little luck and creativity. Removing the wheel will make this a little easier. Make sure you check the connector as they have issues with them melting.

08 saturn outlook headlight needs replaced

I was able to replace this bulb via the wheel well. There were 4 small screws holding the liner on. I was then able to bend the liner back + turn the light bulb dust cover and remove it. The bulb assembly also had to be turned to pull it out. I then removed the wireplug. My bulb was intact + the wire connecting to the bulb was the problem. I simply brushed off some of the carbon residue from the wireset overheating I reattached it + it worked long enough to buy a new wireset. I am very disapointed I had to do this basic repair on my fairly new outlook 500 miles out of a 36k warranty.
