Bolt broken off in power steering pump on 2003 expedition

I recommend drilling a hole down the center off the broken bolt, being very careful to not damage the threads. After you get the hole drilled about a half inch to one inch down the bolt, use a square "bolt-out" broken bolt remover by lightly hammering the remover in place and trying to back out with vice grips or equivalent. You can never use too much penetrating oil throughout this whole process. If there is any of the bolt exposed, you can slice a line into the bolt using a circular cut-off tool and using a large flathead screwdriver to remove.

Cabrio highline 1997 Bought a car with broken bolt in lone of the wholes that holds flange against cylinder head I think I have to remove the head to retap the whole but afraid to screw it up still have to...

The only way I know to remove a broken bolt is to drill the center of the bolt - with a bit that is small enough that it will not cut thru the threads. You only have to drill a short distance - enough for the extractor tool to bite into the inner diameter. Then, use an "EZ Out" or other brand of screw extractor to unscrew the bolt. These are basically hardened, tampered, left-hand threaded (to remove a standard threaded bolt) tool that is inserted into the hole you drilled in the bolt. It has a square top designed to be held by a tap wrench. As you turn CCW to back out the broken bolt, the threads of the EZ Out grab the inside of the drilled hole in the broken bolt. EZ Outs come in a variety of sizes for different size bolts. Some Tap Magic lube cant hurt either.

I need to remove a broken bolt from a hatch support so a new one can be installed

The way I've always removed a broken off bolt is with an "EZ-Out" broken screw/bolt extractor:

You drill a hole a little way into the center of the broken off bolt stub (drill size to use is etched on extractor), screw in extractor so it gets a "bite", then wrench out the bolt stub.

Bolt broke off in engine..

To replace the bolt you'll need to remove the broken bolt that is still in the head. To do this you need to drill a hole in the center of the bolt. And then you'll need to use a bolt extractor to screw the broken bolt out. than you can install a new bolt.

Broke off 2 bolts in the manifold where the thermostate goes

You will need to use a tool called and easyout to remove the broken bolts. This requires drilling a hole thru the center of each broken bolt. Thread the easyout into the drilled hole in a counterclockwise fashion as tight as possible. Using a socket or wrench, turn the easyout tool counterclockwise, it should lock up in the frilled hole and unscrew the broken bolt. The hardest part will be trying to drill a hole in the center of the broken bolts. You didn't say, but did you break the bolts while tightening them down or removing them?. Not that it makes any difference, just curious. Good luck to you.

Does the starter for the 1989 clubwagon have two mounting bolts? It looks like the head of one (the top one) may be broken off leaving me unable to take out the broken starter.

It does have only two mounting bolts.

because of the thight space to work in the upper bolt, nd since starter is not working, what I would do is take the bottom bolt off and wiggle the starter until it breaks free, then work on extracting broken bolt.

Good Luck
