You should replace the handle with an aluminum version. The best one I have found is sold on eBay for 12 dollars.
Look for the one sold by mike8756.
It is easy to install, does not require removing any panels. Th first one I replaced took me about 1/2 hour. I hae done several since for friends and now takes about 15 minutes.
Installation instructions are here:

Good luck.

SOURCE: no power to passenger door
Couple of things to look for. Have you used a circuit tester to make sure it isn't a switch that is bad? If there is no power in the door, check the rubber boot that is between the door and truck body. Inside the boot are many wires to the power door locks, windows, mirror...etc. Over time the wires sometimes break due to opening and closing the door many times. I've found that and a bad switch are the most common problems in GM trucks.
Good Luck
SOURCE: passenger truck door is locked
you will need to get the panel off, there are screws in the armrest, if window crank will be clipped/screwed on then its just a matter of popping off the sides with a flat tip, lifts up and out, once panel is off you should be able to unlock door. Tim

THERE IS A MICROSWITCH INSTALLED REAR DOOR LATCH ASSEMBLY. THIS NOT A SERVICABLE PART, THE ENTIRE LATCH NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. THIS IS THE "DOOR SIDE" OF THE LATCH ASSEMBLY.
SOURCE: Interior light stays on........
i actually had this same problem. I took the fuse out and had no interior lights for awhile till i tried a fuse with a lower amp in it, now it works great!
