Disconnect the negative battery cable for 30 minutes. Reconnect after and the code will clear. However if the problem persists, the code will come back with in 20 miles or 30 minutes.

Emission light on in laguna car

If you mean the Check Engine or Service Engine Soon light, there is a Diagnostic Test Code(s) (DTC error code(s)) stored in your onboard diagnostic computer. An OBD II code scanner can read the code(s), and an auto parts store counterperson can tell you what the code(s) means. In fact, at larger parts stores, the counterperson will have a code scanner available for use at their store free of charge...and they might even connect it and read the code for you (they are in the business of selling parts, ya know?). Then you will have to decide whether or not you want to try the repair yourself. Good luck.

Service Engine Light came on. Had Clerk @ Auto

Probably can't hurt. The 300 code is ignition system/misfire. And the 440 code has to do with emissions. The misfire condition is probably causing a sensor to pick up a problem with your emissions

Service Engine soon light stays on but car runs

Probably needs an oil change (if it already hasn't had one) and the light reset. If that doesn't help, take it and have a code scanner hooked up to it, to find out why the light is on.
If there is an autozone or advanced auto near you, go there, and tell them you have an engine light on and need to read the code.
They usually don't charge, other places do.
