Can anybody tell me, how to replace the paper fuel filter ond a 1978 Cadillac Seville?

Many of these are located in the fuel fitting that connects to the carburetor...You need 2 wrenches to loosen this connection...the small one should be a fuel line will find the paper filter inside this fitting...when replacing, it will not let you install backwards...Be sure to use some fuel line Teflon tape when re-connecting the fitting to the carburetor...inspect for leaks while motor running...Hope this helps.

1982 Pace Arrow fixit problems

I would take some digital photos. I would also ask if some of your adapters need to be removed before turning it in to the rebuilder. This is something that can get separated from the carburetor while the carb is rebuilt. BUT you do need the inlet fitting to keep the strainer in place.

Photos will also show any vacuum lines.

Connection of carburetor

ill guess at the verb "HOW DOES IT,"
carbs are complex devices. very very tricky. done many,
(i use wideband 02 , today to tune all carbs, have 2 cars with)
the carb has many connections
what is your question, surely not all,, ???
why are you asking, someone stole yours,?
why is not not photo-graphed before take apart.? for free today. this..

if car is like ours, (no stated YOUR country) but like USA

try, maybe they have 89s coverd.
land Cruiser come in series, youll need that too.
like series 70.?

here are all engines used in series 70, off the wiki
huge list (i guess its in the 2st three gas motors?)
post ENGINE type and country' 22R ?
and saw how this was lost. connections?
on most USA cars, you open hood , and look up,
and the CARB vacuum map is there.
i showed the fulls list so other LC posters can see its 13 engines options. and fruitless to ask questions on engines, non stated.

Need a pic and specs on a 1979 gmc sierra grande carburetor

That is a Rochester carburetor--4 barrel, and these carburetor are notorious for problems. It's a hassle to repair because some of the flat plug in the passage ways will leak. We just drill them out, and install new plug with epoxy after the carburetor body has been thoroughly cleaned. Go to you local library they should have a repair manual on Rochester carburetors, or look on the Internet it has everything in it networking. GB...stewbsion

I installed a new carburator but will not speed up

There were a lot of these years made and the wrecking yard is full of them for extra parts. As far and the may have been worn out or set around so long that things have frozen up inside. This will requirr you to buy a carb kit and the auto parts store. Shouldn't be but 15 or twenty bucks. But be fore you do that check the fuel filter. Some carburetors have one built in too. It would be right where the fuel line connects to it. The other filter is in the gas line either near the carburetor or under the vehicle running along the driver side door or there abouts. You can take it off when you fand it and blow through the end that is pointed away from te carburetor. Have a paper towel handle so you can blow the excess gas into the towel and check for dirt and gunk. If a lot came out the replace the filter. If it looked pretty good then replace the filter back on the truck because I doubt it is the problem. May I ask why you replaced the carburetor in the first place? The trouble may lie somewhere other then the carburetors. Raz

I need to replace my fuel filter. need to know where it is and what i need to do to access it.

Regarding Fuel Filter - Under vehicle, driver side, below seating area, front of fuel tank, mounted on chassis in fuel line.

A device located in the fuel line to remove impurities from the fuel before it enters the carburetor or injector system.

Fuel filters can be located in a fuel line, in the tank, in a carburetor, or in any combination of these. A carburetor often has a filter behind the fitting at its fuel inlet.

An external fule filter. Courtesy of General Motors Corporation, Service Technology Group. Engine heat causes fuel to vaporize, which can result in vapor lock in the filter. Some fuel filters have vapor return lines to allow for expanding vapors and fuel to return to the tank.

Fuel filters and elements are serviced by replacement only. Some vehicle manufacturers recommend fuel filter replacement at 30,000 miles (48,000 km). Always replace the fuel filter at the vehicle manufacturer's recommended mileage.
The fuel filter replacement procedure varies depending on the make and year of the vehicle and the type of fuel system. Always follow the filter replacement procedure in the appropriate service manual. The photo sequence below shows a typical procedure for relieving fuel pressure and removing a fuel filter.

Install the free end of the gauge bleed hose into an approved gasoline container, and open the gauge bleed valve to relieve the fuel pressure.
