Question about 2004 Dodge Ram 1500
Egine cuts off when braking or slowing down. Also seems to lack response or power. could this be the EGR or the TPS?
I have a 2004 Dodge 1500 quad cab with a 5.7 Hemi engine and and have been very happy with it's performance and reliability. At around 155K miles on it I noticed the idle became rough intermittently and almost stalled when I started the engine cold or sometimes when I stopped for traffic lights. When I took it the shop my mechanic hooked it up to a computer that said the throttle at idle was simultaneously running both too rich and too lean. After a lot of head scratching we eventually figured out the problem was that two oxygen sensors located in the exhaust that monitor the exhaust gases for optimum air fuel mixture had failed. Once they were replaced my truck idled just fine again!

Check/clean the MAP sensor and throttle position sensor. This should fix the issue. Its a common problem with Chrysler products.

if you do it do it at the dealer that you got it from so it wont void the warranty. that way you keep it in place and they can also tell you the specifications as to what you need to do ,if anything to the front of the truck

Open up the tail gate, you will see two torque screws on the inside beside the tail lights. take these out, this will free up the housing and you can change it from there.
