Having a factory or professional type scan tool hooked up checking DTC'S - diagnostic trouble codes in all the modules on the vehicle . Insturment cluster , PCM , BCM ,ABS , SRS etc.... Should be the first step in the diagnostic procedure.. Could have a serial data network problem . Do you know what a serial data buss is ? In the case of your vehicle it is GM class 2 data buss . Anytime a bunch of thing's electrical wierd out , suspect the buss.Buick , chevy , cadillac , olds , pontiac all used this .

My '93 Riviera needs new brakes. I am being told that to do the brake job would be approx. $900 because each brake line needs to be drained, there are aluminum blocks(?) and each wheel has independent...

Hi, this vehicle does have antilock, with aluminum hardware, and you could flush your brake fluid, but I can not see, even with everything replaced, paying $900, unless they were to replace all the lines, master cylinder, and perhaps other things. I feel you should get a 2nd opinion, as this sounds too high to me.Good luck...Coop

booster rarely go bad and when they do they make a vacuum sound in the car see if vac hose is going to booster from top back of engine 2 booster if that is got vac . but the leak in the brake line is a bigger danger and you cannot diagnose the master or booster with out fixing that leak first &bleading the brakes

1987 Buick grand national intermittent lack of boost to brakes. Not the best stopping power at best and sometimes no boost at all. All new brake lines, new cylinders front, new disks and pads as well as...

Sounds like the accumulator ball on the side of the master cylinder. I don't know how to check it,but what ever you do just don't unscrew it with out knowing what you are doing they have to have the pressure taken out of them by pressing the brakes at least 10 times with the engine off. That thing will take off like a rocket if you don't. Or the simple thing is air in the lines start bleeding from the furthest tire to closest.

93 tracker front brakes wont release without opening bleeders

Try loosening the line at the master cylinder when they are tight. This is odd, usually the brake hoses would have fixed this problem. I don't see how a combination valve could cause this but let me know if popping the lines loose at the MC releases the brakes. It could have a bad master.
