Check the fuel pressure when this happens. This assumes the starter is turning the engine but it doesn't fire up.

2007 Malibu error when turning key on no start

Your vehicle has a theft system installed. What has happened is the Computer has detected the wrong theft data from the ignition cylinder. Sometimes trying a different key will temporarily start the vehicle. The other option is try to start the car, when it sees the key failure, leave the key on for 10 minutes. Repeat the procedure 3 times for a total of 30 minutes. On the fourth attempt it should start. If those two options fail, you will have to take it to a repair shop the can dignose theft concerns.

Lost set of keys, alarm was on car locked. Found spare key only, it will open door, alarm goes off, but the key won't start engine. It will turn in ignition, but dead! It's a Chevy HHR 2006! HELP

Close the doors. Lock the doors using the buttons on the key fob. Use the fob to again unlock the doors. The key should then work the ignition. If this will not work, you will have to tow your vehicle to the dealer and buy a new key and/or fob and have it programmed to the vehicle.

Does anything turn on? I mean as for electrical (radio, headlights, etc)?
I have had this problem with two different vehicles, typically pontiac grandam, but when you turn the key to start, sometimes it doesn't return to the "on" position completely. It will eventually make it's way back though, after time, like you've described. so next time it happens, just wiggle your key back a little bit, see if that's maybe the problem?

not knowing what kind of vehicle it is it is hard to tell. some gm cars and trucks have oil sending units that will not allow the vehicle to start unless it has oil pressure. they start going out and sometimes they start and sometimes they won"t.

I have a 2006 pontiac montana and a starting disabled light comes on and the vehicle shuts of when its running , and sometimes it doesnt start on the first try

Most likely the PassKey circuit is going bad. Something to try is to connect a 10 amp battery charger to vehicle and leaving the key in the on position for 10 minutes. at the end of that, turn key off. You are supposed to do this procedure 3 time to relearn the security system. At the end, turn key off, then try to start it. Sometimes it works. Its worth a try. Otherwise you will have to replace it.

When i start the vehicle, it will not turn over

Sounds like your starter and/or solenoid is on it's way out. First be certain that all your battery connections are clean and tight. Also when your vehicle is ready to go for a ride, drive it over to your local AutoZone parts store for a free Alternator Test to rule that out. They can also do a free "bench test" on your starter.

Sometimes the jeep grand cherokee 2005 limited does not start immediately - turn over the key and nothing - had the jeep in and they ran a diagnostic and could find no problems with the battery, alternator...

This is a normal condition I will explain why. Your vehicle has an ETC(Electronic throttle conrtol) which mean the is not a throttle cable. It is control by onboard computers in the vehicle. There is a delay sometimes because the ETC performs whats called a sweep test. turn the key to the on position for 2 seconds for it will then fire right up. I hope this info was helpfull please rate it.

We have a 2000 olds bravada that sometimes will crank and not start if you turn the key off then back on it will then start also sometimes it won't even crank and if you trun it off and back on it will...

As far as the turning of the key on and back off and then it starting, it sounds like a fuel pump problem. The fuel pump only primes for 2 sec and therefore cycling the key builds up enough pressure in order for the vehicle to start. As for why the vehicle is not cranking, that I do not know. I would check the battery terminals for corrosion and try to clean them.
