I have a 2001 Chrysler Voyager LX. My non-power sliding door on the passenger side won;t open from the inside. Opens fine form the outside. How do I fix this? Is there a child safety lock I do not see?...

A child safety lock switch hidden away on the trailing edge of the door can be engaged to prevent opening it, will be a little switch of sort itll move up or down. door will open from outside but not inside for child safety,

Although I lock my doors, the unlock by themselves after a short (approximately 40 second) time. The alarm stays on however.

Sounds like the central locking system thinks a door is open, check the bonnet and tailgate switches are indeed closing (and sunroof if fitted) make sure the boot light is not staying on. Try locking it from the passenger side door lock key cylinder instead of the drivers side or the remote and see if it is ok then

Chrysler voyager electronic doors doors do not

a common problem with Chrysler/Dodge minivans .. when you open the sliding door you will see two flat brass contacts on the door frame and two spring loaded plungers that connect to the flat brass contacts when the door is closed .. this provides power to the rear door locks when the lock is accuated.. .. i thought the contacts would surely be plated with something but they are not ... if they were plated then you would have to be careful how you clean them . but as it is you can use steel wool or sand paper and a cleaning solvent like alcohol .. clean both contacts and plunger tips .. for reliable operation you have to keep those clean ... in later years they started putting a rolling loop of wire connecting the doors electronics to the cars lock control .. thats probably more reliable .. the danger in the dirty contacts is that you might not know your back doors are unlocked unless you look every time .. and i bet the theves know that also .. ..

We have a 2005 Chrysler Town and Country. The remote will open the tailgate but not the side doors. Also the switch on drivers door will not lock or unlock the other doors.

I believe the doors have to be unlocked before the remote can open them. If they are not unlocking by remote, it seems a common solution is to remove the IDO fuse in the fuse box under the hood, and simply put it back in. This resets the electronic problems and seems to allow everything to work again. If the problem reoccurs regularly it may be because one or more locks are not functioning properly causing the system to shut them down. Lubrication usually works well.
