Question about Cars & Trucks

A rusted away rad support must be a common problem on the Montana. It's where all the salt collects. On ours the rad was just hanging from the driver's side and the air deflector with the remains of the rad support above it almost dragging the ground on the passenger side. The locating pin on top of the rad on the passenger side was about an inch below the rubber grommet it was supposed to be inside. I drilled a hole in the fan support near the base of this pin and wired the whole thing up to the engine compartment brace above it. I also suspended the air deflector at the centre up to the hood safety latch bracket and screwed the passenger end of the deflector to some unrusted metal I found. This 10-year old Minivan was rustier than a 20+ year old Volvo I have. I though only Fords rusted that fast.
