SOURCE: Y reg Discovery will not rev more than 2500 rpm.

Sounds like it's not boosting, and the engine is stopping you from doing damage - check the wastegate modulator (solenoid on the side of the engine in front of the turbo and under the air intake pipe). Also check that the breather hose has not worn through the wastegate actuator causing a vent to atmosphere. If these are fine, then you may have a vacuum problem - are the brakes ok?

SOURCE: HOW DO YOU RESET THE SERVICE INTERVAL INDICATOR ON

You can take it to a garage that can run diagnostics on your vehicle, as you need to plug in a laptop that has the diagnostic program on it and switch off the indicator. This also goes for engin mangement lights, airbag warning lights etc. As long as the garage has the correct diagnostic program they caan reset all the dash lights you want resetting. Hope this helps ;)

I have a 2005 v6 triton. It has a load rattling noise on idle and seems to go away at around 1500rpm. It is not always there and doesn't matter whether engine hot or cold.

if on a V 6 petrol @ 1500 rpm
could be the knock sensor
distributor timing might be out
or serp belt tensioner bearings

if a diesel i would expect a rattle@1500 rpm

Discovery 3 MY09 TDV6 front end whine under load acceleration

When you say whine does it only occur under acceleration only? If so most likely the wheel hub assembly or some will say wheel bearing but on these vehicles it is complete hub assembly. If you turn or swerve one way then the other does it go away in one direction? If so another strong indication of hub wearing out. If not, and it is a really high whine with acceleration it is also possibly the transmission. I have heard of this complaint before, it's not a sign of failure just a noise that develops due to the pressure placed on bearing under a load. First change fluid and filter for tranny after a good flushing. Replace with high quality fluid and a bottle of transmission seal restore product. Go 1000 miles, change fluid again, if noise is still there turn up radio.
Sorry but just a whine under acceleration isn't a lot to go on. But I'm willing to bet wheel hub. 9 out of ten front end whine complaints is wheel hub or bearing especially on a heavy 4x4 suv
