Front vents don't work

The front vents in my 97 dodge grand caravan works occasionally; sometimes they come on when turned on other times it comes on when you slam the door or trunk. Also can you replace the solenoid in this vehicle without replacing the starter.

As far as the front vents go, it sounds like you have a loose or stuck vent baffle. The baffle is a part of the heating system, that directs heat to a specific place, via dash vent, floor vent and so on. The only way to check for sure, is to take apart the dash counsel and look. Also, you can replace a solenoid and not the whole starter, if just the solenoid is bad. You would have to take the starter off and take it to Autozone or Advanced Auto and have them check it for sure. It would be a lot cheaper if it was just the solenoid, that way, you could pick up one at your local junk yard a lot cheaper then an auto-parts store!

It sounds like a loose serpentine belt that needs adjustment, or to dry, adjust or replace it.

Try changing the door switch. It should be a relatively easy fix if that is the problem.

Why does the heater on my 2002 dodge grand caravan only work in the back of my van?

change thermostat, how fresh is your 50/50 coolant, 50% water is what gives you heat, with thermostat, are all heat controls in correct position ? any obstructions in vent hoses, has debris fallen into defroster vents etc., are rad hoses in good condition ? weak hoses collapse and prevent flow. good luck

My front air bower for my ac stopped working my rear ac works I have a 2007 grand caravan help air blower or compressor?

if you have cold air in the rear then it isn't the a/c compressor. if no air comes out of the front vents the it is either the blower motor or the blower motor resistor.

Passenger side heat doesn't work in my 2007 Dodge Grand Caravan. There is no heat, only cold air, coming from the dash, floor, & defrost vents. There are dual temp controls for the driver &...

I really can't be sure off hand, but what you wrote looks like the control valves are sticking(these flaps allow air to go different directions at the vents). its located at the heater core(towards the left side of the heater core) under the plastic just under the dash. you can manually move them, encase they are stuck, they do stick sometimes. while checking the vent doors, make sure your vacuum lines are connected. also check to make sure your vent hoses are tight. I hope this helps

Air won't blow where its supposed to

the vent control is either vacuum (likely) or electrical.... you most likely need to find a vacuum leak.... start under the hood... you will see a round chamber with a vacuum hose on each end of it near the firewall and brake booster. it's slightly bigger then a film cannister. on my dad's van (also a dodge product) it is white. that is likely the issue....

97 dodge grandcaravan

just as your mechanic said it is the overrunning clutch case and you might be able to save it by changing the fluid in it and adding an additive we alway use the limited slip additive made for GM and it has gone away within 100 mile of driving. what this clutch does is links the front to the rear axel and if your tires do not match in size (overall diameter) this clutch has to work over time. and wil ruin this clutch . so check your tires first and hope the additive will save your clutches. good luck
