After you have removed both belts.place the ac belt over the pullys on the crank all the way to the inside so that the belt will go behind the pulley, then place the ac side on the ac compressor pulley.
know place the belt above the tensioner pully and place belt on crank pulley, then raise the tensioner with a wrench to where you can slide belt under the tensioner pulley and release the tensioner against belt, reinstall other belt as you removed it.

85 chevy c-10 silverado. How do put on an

on some models the belt ran around both if you do not have the old belt get a piece of string and wrap it around the pulleys for the alternator. have the alternator set about halfway on the adjustment bracket. two bolts hold the alternator one on the bottom and one on the top loosen both up enough to allow you to move the alternator but the belt on and rotate the alternator until tight enough you can't push it down more than a 1/4 of an inch.

How do you remove and then replace the AC Compressor in a 1997 Dodge Dakota (V8 Magnum)?

This is a job that should deffinatly be left to the pros. The refrigerant is under high pressure in the system and it is illegal to bleed it off into the atmophere-also after replacing comressor the refrigerant has to be installed properly--and if there are other probs in the a/c system they will be found

remove the belt to ac compressor.take your serpentine belt go around crank pulley goes around power steering pump goes around alternator and the tensioner on the far left. the water pump on the out side and the top idler pulley out side. the belt drives them from the out side. then you put your ac compressor belt back on.

A/c belt relacement

DO this with a COLD engine, so you do not burned by a hot engine...Loosen the 14 millimeter nut on the idler/tensioner pulleythat the AC belt rides on. Do NOT remove the nut, or the pulley will fall off. Then loosen the long 12 millimeter bolt, which will remove tension, and will let the pulley extend. Remove the old belt. Spin the tensioner pulley with your hand, make sure that it spins free & is not noisy, Fit the new belt, and tighten the 12 millimeter bolt until the pulley retracts, and tightens the belt. Finally, retighten the 14 millimeter nut.

AC BELT NEEDS CHANGED

You have to remove the main serpentine belt first. this is done with a 15mm wrench put on the tensioner. then from the bottom you can get to the a/c belt tensioner. install a 3/8 ratchet on it and remove tension from belt. I find the only way to get belt on and off is too slip it off the tensioner then off the backside of crank pulley then slide off of a/c compressor then install new belt onto the crank letting it fall off the backside run belt around compressor tensioner then work around crank pulley

Running hard

You may need a new serpentine belt tensioner. That's the part that keeps the belts tight. If it's weak, it may be allowing the belt to slip. When you say the car runs "hard" what exactly do you mean? That the RPMs dip down when you turn on the AC? If so, that's normal since the AC compressor loads the engine pretty heavily. If you mean something else by it, please repost and clarify what you're seeing/hearing so we can take it from there.
