The following are the general instructions on the start of diagnosing any electronically controlled engine or transmission problem.

The engine and the automatic transmission (transmission control is only for automatics, engine is still computer controlled no matter the transmission type) in this vehicle are computer controlled and in most cases when a fault occurs a fault code is stored in the memory of the computer control module. There are exception to this, such as the Mass Airflow Meter and fuel pressure problems. What must be done is to have all the basic testing done such as a scan of the system for fault codes as well as a check with a live data scanner tool for engine functions that are not within range of normal, a trained technician is required to know what is correct and what isn't, then based on careful diagnostics done from a factory repair manual the correct part is replaced or the wiring repaired or the computer replaced (known as the PCM), which is very rarely the problem. Other basic checks must be done as well such as mechanical problems with the engine as well as engine state of tune and mileage on the engine. The transmission can have mechanical issues as well such as no gear engagement at all or a failed pump or other pressure related problems. Also engine mechanical problems can and do cause many drive-ability related problem such as rough idle and other symptoms.

I have a fx4 f 150 that is a 04 that in cool morinings will not turn over but when warms up cranks fine what could it be

Sounds like the starter, try tapping on the starter with a hammer while trying to start it, If it starts its the starter. Also, if there is a place near by that rebuilds starters its alot cheaper than buying a new one. They put new parts in so its as good as a remanufactured one from the parts store.

I have a 1997 Lincoln continental . Was parked for several days and would not start afterwards. It has always been good but seems to lack spark - fuel pump seems fine

If its been more than 75000 since your last tune up I would get one. Plugs and wires do not last over that amount of miles causing the engine to run very bad or just won't start

Car dies going down highway hard to start afterwards it is a 1997 gs eclipse. what could be causing this

assuming the starter is good and the engine turn over fine but will not fire or run. when the car die, check why is it so hard to start. check if you getting sparks and fuel, no sparks check coil and wires, and if both are good than the cam sensor is bad, no fuel, check the fuel pump, pump good check the crank sensor.

Ok i have a 1999 hyundai accent wont start changed fuel pump and it started ran very bad very! turned it off wouldnt start back up again checked spark plugs no spark and no power going to fuel pump we are...

Changing the pump doesn't affect the spark so lets start a that the beginning?? Why was the pump replaced and was it running fine before changing the pump? Also plugs could be fouled as well but if it was working fine before the fuel pump it will be fine afterwards if getting gas and the fuel pump was the problem., Also how did you verify no spark??

Put new glow plugs in ran fine for 1 day now it wont start..

You may want to surf around on some of the powerstroke forums for detailed answers, but I know the powerstrokes use oil pressure to control the injectors so you may have some problems with the high pressure oil pump.
Again, it is just a guess. I just wanted to point you to some of the Ford Powerstroke forums which may be of much more help for you.
Good luck..

1984 Volvo 240 DL Wagon not Starting and dying

In my 86 volvo this is where a relay was under the glove box area i believe it was the fuel pump relay. In my vehicle i washed the car and found it did not start afterwards after many hours of troubleshooting i found this relay was full of water causing my problem, they hang it upside down so water can enter easily, i took mine apart and cleaned the contacts with sandpaper, worked fine afterwards.

if the savana crancks but won't start see if you are getting spark at the ignition coils or spark plugs, also there should be a valve to test for fuel pressure make sure you are getting fuel to the engine because some gm trucks had problem with the fuel pump conector melting, if you have the old fuel pump see if any of the conectors if black or melted if they are try to wigle the conector at fuel pump to try to start it, sorry for the delay but i'm a mobile mechanic and sometimes very very bussy
