Question about 1997 Honda Accord

1997 honda accord loud buzz near engine when accelerator pressed?

I believe it first started when I would go up a hill or press the gas kind of hard at times; and the engine would make this loud buzz then quit every time. Now anytime I press the gas, a loud buzz coming from the front sounds. It almost sounds like when a muffler goes, but I know that's not it. Any ideas?

Sounds like either: 1) A exhaust heatshield is loose. They're simply thin metal guards around your muffler/CATS. If you find one loose, remove it or have it welded back on. 2) Broken motor mount. This is serious and requires pulling the engine from the car. If a motor mount is broken, the engine wont sit right and cause multiple vibrations. Hope this helped!

95 honda accord hard acceleration and bogging down at increased throttle changed fuel pump

Brother Dave, stuff wears out as you well know. But indications don't always point to the obvious. I know it sounds like fuel delivery problem, and new pump didn't fixit, so change the EGR valve. That's Exhaust Gas Recirculation valve. It's part of emissions control and only a couple of small bolts hold it onto the intake manifold with a small vacuum line running to it. A bad EGR will cause the slow pickup speed and won't pull a hill or even a short grade. I believe this EGR change will fix your situation completely. Good day my friend, and happy motoring.

I have a 1998 Honda Accord applied brakes going down hill and then car would not accelerate when pressing on the gap pedal. Now it will not start. What could be wrong?

If you pressed the brake quite hard and the engine cut out then try checking to see if you car has an emergency fuel shut off switch. Perhaps this has engaged incorrectly. These are normally located near the driver or passenger seats in older cars, and are designed to engage in the event of a crash cutting off the fuel if your car has one.

if that hasn't happened perhaps you have a blocked/restricted fuel line.

Trouble Accelerating

Could be a few things
1: clogged fuel filter
2: the car needs a tune up IE plugs wires cap and rotor and check the timing.
3Dirty throtle body and dirty air filter
Do you have an SES or check engine light on?

Engine revs but no acceleration

Clutch plate and pressure plate seem to be too weak to pull the car. Or one of the CV joints is detached from the gear box. To test the clutch plate, park the car on flat surface. Pull the hand brake up, start the car, depress the foot brake pedal, depress the clutch pedal, put the car in 1st gear, press the gas pedal and leave the clutch pedal at once, while keeping the brake pedal depressed.
Follow one of the two following statements:
1. Engine does not shut down and remain start. (Clutch plate, pressure plate and clutch bearing defective - Replace all as a set)
2. Engine shuts down. (Clutch system is OK and does not require any repair).

sounds like the wheels are out of balance, is there a slight vibration through the steering wheel at this speed? and does the problem stop if you go faster (please drive carefully)

Check engine light came on today honda accord v6 2003 at 97k miles. car makes a thump sound when put into reverse hot or cold. sometimes when i turn and accelerate i can reproduce this feeling moving...

Take your car to a mechanic or your local auto parts superstore and have them read/scan the codes for the reason for the check engine light. A good place to start.

Engine shuts off if gas isnt pumped.

Your problem could have many sources, but I would start by having your fuel pressure checked, especially under load. It sounds very much like your fuel pump is failing. Quite typically fuel pumps will run fine, then not fine, then fine again. Very often they act up while the engine is under load, such as climbing a significant hill, or accelerating suddenly.
Hope this helps you find the problem.

Loud noise when press on the gas

see if te noise is there when stationary. if so hold the revs around 1500 to 2000 rpm if it rattles around that, then it is the heat sheild on the down pipe section thats broken free.
