Yes, but defrosting/ defogging will take a little more time. The system is designed to run when in defrost mode to pull moisture out. thus aiding in fast defog. Low refrigerant will cause the low pressure switch to disable the compressor, ergo no cool air on warmer days.

Your heat comes from the hot water in the engine and has nothing to do with your AC.

2000 Buick LeSabre a/c clutch will not engage. Fuse is good, can't tell if micro relay is ok or not, no power at compressor clutch plug when a/c is turned on. Are there other switches (full throttle...

There is a low refridgerant pressure switch, and a high refridgerant pressure switch. Either can cut the power to the clutch. You will have to check the pressure in the system to know for sure.
The electrical part in the clutch could be bad. You could run jumper wires to the clutch connector to see if it will engage. If not, its the clutch. If it does engage, then more than likely your just low on refridgerant, and possibly have a tiny leak.

Ac not cooling

hello, These cars have issues with the valve inside the conpressor going bad and it wont pump the froen like normal, if you have access to a guage set watch the pressures, the low side pressure should be below 50 while compressor is running and the high side will be realitive to outside temp but somewhere around 225 to 275. if not and the low side is high, and the high side is low then the compressor needs replaced. Hope this helps.

I have a 2001 pt cruiser and recently i had to replace the water pump. now my heat and ac fan will not work. no noise or anything.

See if the compressor clutch engages, check that the inner parts of the belt pulley turns together with the outer part/ belt. If not the clutch circuit or the pressure sensor connector on the pressure tube may have been disconnected during the change of the water pump. Or maybe you just run out of refridgerant? Low pressure --> the compressor runs constantly but no or little cooling effect.

My a\c only blows cold air when im moving,

they are seperate concerns, The heat usaly does this when the fins on the waterpump is worn, And needs replaced, As you throttle vehical your forcing more rpm which in turns provides more circulation. As for the a/c, Sounds like your low on refridgerant

is it HOT or just not as cold. If its HOT, like heated air, there is a door problem, if its just not cool, the a/c refridgerent is low and will need a recharge, most likely the comp is leaking.

Air conditioning problems...air flow nothing cool

You need to double check the refridgerant charge - system holds anywhere from 2 1/2 to 3 pounds of R134a refridgerant. If you are sure refridgerant charge is correct I suspect it is a low side pressure cycling switch problem. Located on the passanger side towards the back of the engine on the silver accumulator - unplug connector; jump the two terminals together - if a/c compressor clutch comes on and stays on replace the switch.

Air conditioner isn't blowing cold air

Could be a number of things...electrical connections causing the compressor not to run. Turn on AC and turn your thermostat all the way to cool...now visually check to see if compressor is engaged and not just free wheeling. Most likely you lost your refridgerant due to leak in the system...would need to find leak and repair then have your system re-charged with refridgerant. Best case scenario...your system just needs a charge of refridgerant due to not having enough.

I own a Cadillac Seville STS, on my dash it reads refridgerant very low , and also it says A.C compresser off. I just refilled my coolant with refridgerant with the r142a and it did not work. The dash still...

You have a leak in the ac system, u will have to have the system leak tested and the leak repaired before adding anymore very expensive R134 refridgerent.
