the security light flashes when car is off to let thiefs know it is in theft mode. bypass it you will wake up with no caddy if its worth looking at ..............
Sounds like a problem with the security. It immobilizes the fuel injector circuit when the security is on.
Try this: turn key to on, and wait several minutes (up to 30 minutes) to see if light stops blinking. If it does stop, turn key back off, then try to start it. If the security light goes off, it may have reset. If it does not stop blinking or staying on steady, the dealer will charge outrageous prices to fix it-possibly over $800. Google "passlock bypass" or "passkey bypass" or "VATS bypass" to see your options. A site called newrockies sells a module (about $200) that forever bypasses the whole security system.
If the security light is on, then you have a failed antitheft system. This light is only for this. If you bypass the system, your car will work perfectly again. http://vatspasslockpasskeysecurityhelp.yolasite.com/
The security system considers low voltage a threat to the security of the vehicle. MAYBE, just maybe the gauge not reading the voltage correctly is causing the security system to shut you down. 2 options: Fix the gauge and hope that allows the secuiry to work properly OR bypass the security system so it CANT shut you down... The security light is an infamous problem on GM vehicles. They tend to NOT be tied into anything other than the ignition, TDM computer (theft deterrent module), starters or injectors. But anything is possible on new cars. I'll tell you what, bypassing that security system is a gauranteed way to get that car running again. Only takes about an hour as i have done alot of these personallly. This site has tons of info and ive done both different bypasses decribed on this site and they both work. Pending on your vehicle's system.
Im guessing you tried to bypass the key in the ignition/steering column. This is ok unless the actual problem was in the TDM (theft deterrent module) In this case, the 2 wire bypass does nothing. There is another way to bypass this. Check out this link for tons of info and some DO IT YOURSELF options. Ive done several key bypasses and tons of full bypasses. They both work well, it just depends on what part is failing. I think you need the full bypass to eliminate that TDM.
