you need fuel level sensor replaced. nissan has campaign on those. check with your dealer if your vin number falls into the campaign, which will replace the sending unit/sensor for free, but your VIN has to match the campaigh VINs.go to your dealer and give them your VIN so they can check it in DCS.

2005 Xterra - has done this twice now. After driving around town for 20 minutes or so, notice a slight hesitancy when accelerating, which then gets worse--the engine is running, but vehicle will not move...


Great truck by the way! Possible cam sensor malfuntion, located at the back of the cylinder head. I'd check the connector first, just disconnect and visually inspect. If it looks corroded or dirty, you may use WD-40 on both the sensor and harness connectors. Check the wires going into the connector for wear. Reconnecting may correct the problem. Check the simplest first. Get that code read as well, most auto parts stores will read it for free.

Get a Factory Service Manual, it can help diagnose and explain how to remove and replace parts. Here is a link to your 2005 Xterra Service Manual.

sounds like an oil pressure sening unit un plug it whilf its running and see if the gauge goes too zero,if not then the prob is the gauge, the sending unit is only about 15.00 at auto zone and easy too put in
