The fuel pump is in the fuel tank you have to remove the fuel tank and there will be a retaining ring that holds the pump in losen the retaining ring and take the pump out of the tank be carefull not to bend the float wile removing the pump or your gas gauge wil not read. then just put in new pump and putt it all back together it should only be a bout and hour to and hour and ahalf job for you

this is due to the misalignment.when it is in use.it pressures the motor to move but the motor gets misaligned as motor may be weak or very old and causes this issue.
replacing the motor solves the problem.its a common problem.

You'll have to drop the fuel tank. On top you'll find a retainer ring that you'll have to turn about a quarter of a turn to unlock the pump then you can lift the assembly out.
