Ck you brake fluid level, if it's low don't add any you probably need new front pads. If the pads are still good look for leaks on the back of your rear brakes.

if the bulbs are good then you may want to check for power at the bulb sockets. the circuit boards on the brake light housing goes bad and looks for ground on an adjacent circuit.

1989 GMC SIERRA BRAKE LIGHT IN DASH STAYS ON [CHECKED FOR AIR IN BRAKE LINES-NO AIR] [BRAKE FLUID LEVEL GOOD] [BRAKE PEDAL PULLED UP] IN DASH BRAKE LIGHT STAYS ON

Check your emergency brake. Make sure it isn't partially pressed in. Try unplugging the switch to the emergency brake and see if the light goes out; if it does the switch is bad.

Brake indicator light is on on dashboard in 1989 ford tempo-what would cause this?

first make sure the fluid level is full, next make sure the emergency brake lever is all the way down if it is located in the console or make sure emergency brake pedal is all the way up if it is the kind you push with your foot

1989 chevy 1/2 ton.brake lights or emergency flashers dont work.tail lights an blinkers work.

The Blinkers and the Brake Lights are the same bulb. So check the brake light switch. Flashers use a different flasher unit, than the turn signals

The brake light comes on, on the dash. Brakes work O.K.2003 mercury grand marquis. 112000 miles. the dealer says the pads are good.

Make sure your emergency brake pedal is all the way up, because sometimes if it goes down one notch, that can trigger that light to come on..It wont be enough to drag or slow the sar down, but it will be enough to turn that light on...Also even though your brakes are good..double check your break fluid level...
