Question about 1987 Ford Crown Victoria

Open Question

I have a 1987 LTD crown victoria, I drove to store one morning , when i got home i was pounding on both back drums to get them off to adjust the brake tensioners. When i was done and got the drums back on i went to start the car and it would not fire. it would just keep cranking over but not start. Checked the fuel pump it comes on when i hook wires direct to it. but i have no juice from the wire that goes to the shut off switch in the trunk. Does that wire run up to the regulator under the hood. I can't find the problem we have juice from all regulators under hood. Have any ideas i would appreciate any input. THANK YOU!!!

SOURCE: 2000 Crown Vic cranks but won't start.

Check the fuel pump reset switch again, if it is popped back out then replace that little switch in the trunk, any ford one will do. it works off a magnet and a bearing to close the circuit for the fuel pump. easy fix.

SOURCE: i am not getting power to my fuel pump

on a lot of ford products there is a switch that goes from the fuel pump to the inside of one of the bedsides.
what this is, is a shock switch that turns the fuel pump off if it absorbs a hit.
its a really dumb safety feature but its effective.
there is a red button on it that u have to press to make it active again.
sometimes they just trip for no reason.

There should be a reservoir attached to the brake booster on the drivers side of the engine compartment by the fire wall.

Sounds like a bad starter possibly getting non functional with heated up condition.

The solution is to change the starter with a new one, hopefully lifetime warranted if that's available.

1987 Ford Crown Victoria LTD

If it was an old police vehicle it has probably got an ignition kill switch located somewhere. This will have to be removed. And the wiring put back to factory standards. If not an old police car you are not getting voltage to the starter which is a bad relay. Do you get a clicking sound when you try to start? If yes, have someone keep hitting the start and listen and look for a relay under the hood.
