SOURCE: my car

Is the check engine light on?? If not, I would try base idle adjustment. For that you will have to go to a dealer, because you need a scanner for this operation. Base idle adjustment is done by turning a screw built into the IAC valve, which keeps the car running by giving it air. If your base idle is too low, then the engine is not getting enough air resulting in stalling. Let me know what you find.

SOURCE: RX300 Engine Stalls when I take foot off the gas pedal.

The Idle Air Control (IAC) valve is clogged. This part feeds air to the engine at start-up and idle when the throttle bodies are closed. I removed the throttle body assembly from my 2001 RX300 and separated it from the IAC. After a good cleaning with throttle body cleaner the IAC was good as new. I later decided to replace it during routine maintenance. You can pick up a brand new IAC on eBay (genuine Lexus/Toyota part). The dealer will want upwards of $400.00 for a 45 minute job (all you need are basis hand tools).

SOURCE: wont hold idle will start with foot depressing gas pedal will run with foot on gas but stalls when foot removed

Check and clean Idle air control valve. Make sure its responding to signal as well. Also make sure ther are no vacuum hoses disconnected. This may not be a "cure" but it's a good place to start.

With the engine running open the hood and look/listen for a vacuum leak. One of the larger vacuum hoses has likely come off.

I have a 97 astro awd chevrolet and when i puy my foot on the gas peddle i hear air coming from the dash board

The part is called the vaccum booster control unit its the power assist for your brakes and is feed from the engine main vacuum . How do the brakes work do you get a surge when you shut the vehicle off while shifting to park with your foot still on the brake pedal The gas pedal would have nothing to do with a vacuum noise from the dash. The olny thing it could would be the booster control unit is leaking engine vacuum. The master brake cylinder it mounted to it under the hood and the brake pedal on the inside is derictly connected to it . It cost like 50 bucks if you get one from a junk yard and the brake lines don't need to be disconneced so you have 6 nuts to remove and the pedal clip for the brake pedal

Car stalls and dies, will stay running if keep foot on gas pedal, it was ok until upper intake removed to replace spark plugs. i have installed new plug wires also, new upper intake gaskets, new iac valve....

sounds like a vacuum leak at the manifold. spray wd40 or simillar around manifold to check for leaks. if you find a leak, engine will flare up.

You have a blown head gasket, or intake manifold gasket one of the two.

apply a light force to the gas pedal and start the car continuing to regulate the rpms with gas pedal if you can make the car idle with the gas pedal then you will probably need a new idle air control valve

FORD F250 TRYING TO DRIVE WITH FOOT ON BRAKE .

You did not give us much to work with on this. If it idles too fast you probably have a stuck gas pedal or a vacuum leak on the engine. Be sure your floormat is not jamming the pedal inside the cab.
With the motor off, take off the decorative cover around the airhorn.
Check out the throttle cables and linkage to the airhorn for binding.
Look for loose vacuum lines anywhere you see vacuum lines.
Check your intake manifold bolts and snug them down.
Its dangerous to try to drive it like you are.

Acceleration no air, foot off gas air barely blows out vents

The vent is controlled by vacuum. Check the condition of the vacuum hose associated with the vent control. What is happening is when you decelerate, the intake manifold vacuum increases, and a diaphram is slightly pulled giving you air in the vent but very little. In normal condition the diaphram wont even pull. Solution is check for a vacuum leak in the vent control trace it coming from the intake manifold.
