Instructions

    • 1 Turn your key to the last ignition position (as far as the key will go without starting the engine).
    • 2 Examine the area to the left of your steering wheel to find your DIC control panel. Look closely at the buttons to get comfortable with them.
    • 3 Press the button labeled "Gage Info" several times, until the display screen shows "Oil Life Index".
    • 4 Press and hold the button labeled "Reset" for six seconds. Turn the key back to "Off", and then remove it from the ignition.
    • 5 Re-insert the key and start the engine. The oil life index will be reset; the light will be turned off.

Ask about...a problem with my buick lesabre 1994

Yes, the oil should not be up too high on the indicator. To see what the service engine soon is telling you go to a Checker Auto, O'Rielly Auto Parts, or any other auto parts store that offers free automotive scans and they will tell you why your light is on. If the person whom is performing the scan is nice you can ask them to clear your codes. Fix that oil problem ASAP!
