SOURCE: 1997 honda accord sunroof drain problem

You need to open the sunroof fully and locate the small drain holes at each corner. They will be blocked with debris. Get a piece of welding wire or the likes and carefully unblock the hose by prodding and pouring water down it. When cleared the water shout run away freely.

SOURCE: Floor mats soaked on passenger floor

IF you are leaking from the sunroof in the front passenger side, you can remove the A-pillar cover next to the windshield (right side from inside of car) with a hex wretch, which is under the little plastic cover) and make sure the tube connecting the sunroof rain drain on top is not kinked or broken or not connected. Simply pour some water slowly down the drain on top with the sunroof open to test it. My was "somehow"kinked and I was able to fix it. There is also a NHTSA service bulletin #SI-B51-30-08 for 2003 BMW X5. If the tubing is not the problem, I would call BMW dealer and see if they fix the problem because of the "recall". Good Luck!

The sunroof drains should be located in the rear corners of the sunroof assembly. They may be clogged.

Where is the sunroof drain located on 2002 monte carlo ss and how do i unclog it?

Water leaks are fun to trace out. the drain holes and tubes can be seen with roof open and can be unplugged with compressed air . but usually the headliner is soaked and leaks on to seats the windshield will leak on to passenger floor. remove glove box and check for wetness along "A" pillar.

Water leaking into rear floor storage in vw touran 2004

Sun roof drain may be disconnected or clogged( this is the most likely cause). It is found behind the trim on the upper half of the back pillar. I have also seen where the sunroof frame itself cracked causing the leak, only way to really see that is to lower the headliner a little and inspect for dripping water while spraying the top with water

Volvo s40 t5 2005, water leak behind the passenger seat

Most likely the sunroof drains are clogged. It happened to mine, the floormats and floors were soaked, especially behind the drivers side. Volvo wanted to charge me $550 to clear them out and dry out the floors. Instead I took it home, rolled down the windows, parked it in the sun and let it dry out. Then I found a mechanic who blew out the drains with compressed air for only $20. He had originally quoted me $50-100, but ended up doing it for less. He said the two back drains are clogged. You can try sticking a small flexible wire down the front two yourself, then pour water down to see if it drains properly out the bottom of the car. When I looked I didn't see the two back sunroof drains, but my mechanic said they were clogged with leaves, you might be able to clear these yourself too. I would have never guessed that it was the sunroof causing this, because you don't see the water leak around the sunroof, you only see the water backing up on the floor. Don't take it to the dealership, it's a simple job and they will rip you off.

Water leaking in by passenger side!!!!!!

Most likely the sunroof drains are clogged. It happened to mine (and my friend who has the same car), the floormats and floors were soaked, especially behind the drivers side. He said the two back drains were clogged. You can try sticking a small flexible wire down the front two yourself, then pour water down to see if it drains properly out the bottom of the car. When I looked I didn't see the two back sunroof drains (they are smaller), but my mechanic said they were clogged with leaves, you might be able to clear these yourself too. I would have never guessed that it was the sunroof causing this, because you don't see the water leak around the sunroof, you only see the water backing up on the floor. It has to do with the way the sunroof drains drain down the side panels of your car. Don't take it to the dealership, it's a simple job and they will rip you off.
